A giant twin dragon that kills you if it touches you, goes through walls, and has infinite range. It charges quickly. A good Hanzo is dropping this thing every 30-60 seconds. Twice since I’ve been playing this game I’ve been stepping out of spawn after respawning and this thing comes through a wall from across the map and insta kills me.
The main defense I’ve heard of his ult is you can dodge it. I’ve had this thing dropped in my face, come through walls, or I had nowhere to go more times than I count.
Could we at least limit it’s range or require line of sight line every other stinking ult. I main Moira and her ult doesn’t go through walls.
Where’s the balance?
It also moves at the speed of a coked out snail, can be absorbed or deflected, and is one of the easiest to avoid because he can’t shoot it without wailing like a banshee.
Hanzo’s ult isn’t great. It’s not a teamwinning ult unless it’s paired with grav, even then, transcendence can deny it. I don’t think his ult needs changing. It’s good for area denial, and can sometimes pick up a few kills. It also moves really slowly, soooo.
Because that’s just it, unless it’s a narrow hallway with no exits, or you are graved
The only problem with Hanzo’s ult is that the hitbox isn’t indicated by the actual model.
Hanzo: -ults-
Me: -sidesteps, sips some tea while it moves past-
I’m always amazed when people die to my Dragonstrike while they see it coming right at them.
It happens to me very occasionally if I’m playing a hero with no mobility options and I miscalculate where he’s throwing it. It’s generally a non-issue and best used to create space.
With how much mobility is in this game, it is fairly easy to avoid. Once you here him ult, which is nearly impossible to miss with how loud it is, you should always be on the lookout.
Well at least with caterpillarstrike you can properly visualize the hitbox
Thank you, I couldn’t have said it better myself.
I always knew that deepdown behind this grotesque player icon of yours, there lies the heart of a poet .
On topic, I do think Hanzo’s ult is fine but sometimes I wished it would be transparent…because blocking the view seems to be an additional feature.
This why people don’t take the forums seriously. And me too. The thing moves so friggin slow.
Wow, this is something i didn’t ever had expected to see EVEN in THIS forums.
You made me speechless.
its only good with Zarya’s ult.
It moves so slow its very easy to dodge.
I can think of a lot of things to complain about in OW, Hanzo Dragons on their own is not one of them.
Storm Arrow OTOH, only slightly less cheesy than Scatter Arrow was…
There are a lot things that are wrong with hanzo but none of them are his ult.
If you’re in position where you can’t see it coming, you can hear him launch it - generally assume it’s directed towards the bulk of your teammates or the path his team is moving along. Move away from walls and out of tight spaces as soon as you hear him bellow.
It mostly gets me when I poorly time GA. Bottom line, you’re going to get caught every now and then, but its relatively easy to avoid once you get the hang of what to do.
His ult is largely hit or miss these days, back when most heroes didn’t have the mobility you could get lots and lots of kills, but tie in the fact that you can stun him out of his ult, well good luck getting a bunch of kills. You have to really surprise the enemy team though with his ult, otherwise it’s just a waste, or you get the one person that walked into it accidentally.
Boy, you better pray to God that Junkrat never becomes meta again if Dragonstrike of all things is giving you issues.
From experience, the only time dragonstrike consistently catches me “off guard” is when he shoots it to block the most used spawn doors (think point B Hanamura, and Anubis).
The solution? Go through the other door. Sure the rest of the team is (probably) waiting for you. As Hanzo I’ll shoot it there and then immediately turn toward the other door and load an arrow, but there have also been games where I am the defending Zenyatta and I hear the call and go through the other door and just peacefully float onto point to stall for a hot sec before the rest of my team figures out my plan.
