Can we stop asking for devs to get fired?

Don’t care how much you hate OW2, don’t care if OW2 made you cry, don’t care if you’re paying to get a short sighted OW tattoo lasered because of OW2. Asking Blizzard to fire any of the devs over the game is absolutely not cool.

Your criticisms should start and end at the game. There are real people behind this game who your criticisms should not be directed at. Game dev is already a pretty unrewarding job from what I understand about the industry. I’d hate to be an OW2 dev who came on here to see fan feedback and saw a bunch of rabbid fans calling for their termination.

Won’t somebody PLEASE think about the developers!?

If only we could fire some of the higher ups to cease a particular chain of events…

One where a particular CEO made hundreds of layoffs on employees and was filed a lawsuit for female discrimination.

But, I digress. Like heck anybody will listen.

A 25 year old simpsons joke. Ground breaking.

It’s really embarrassing for the rest of us having you around.

I bet you thought this was clever.

Firing them is a bit extreme, but you can’t deny that there is a ton of negativity towards OW2 and they should seriously cast some doubt on their current design philosophy.

Imagine getting in a stink about that though.

I was thinking the same the other day, as these types of posts have become more common.

Criticize balance all you want, but a line is crossed when people advocate for jeopardizing the livelihoods of dev team members (during a pandemic no less) because they didn’t balance the game the way you want them to. Talk about spoiled and entitled behavior.

All I can say is, Karma comes for us all. Be careful when you wish harm upon others because you might end up on the receiving end of it yourself.

You mean the guy in charge when most of the big decisions about OW2 were made? The guy who basically orchestrated the OW content pace and who did not think that OW really needed more heroes (meaning he did not understand what he had made)? I like Jeff and think he was a great ambassador for OW but he made a lot of bad decisions and having some new voices running things seems to be causing some positive change.

at least he didnt drive the game into what will be this monetization nightmare

You mean the standard battle pass system that was almost certainly decided on from day 1? If you really think that was decided on in the time since he left I got some bad news for you because that was almost certainly one of the early ideas as it seems to be lynchpin in everything else that they announced on day 1.

The only reason they did not say that the game would be F2P then was because nobody would buy OW1 knowing that OW2 would make the MP part free in, what they thought at the time, would be 18ish months.

What about being moved to Hearthstone?

Asking for Devs to get fired is too much. Even if I do hate most of the OW2 changes.

no offense but I don’t miss him, and he will have his legitimate reasons for leaving.

Even if they did get fired who exactly are people imagining will replace them?

Are there some great saviors just itching to get hired at Blizzard and fix all of their problems but alas they can’t because all positions are filled.

Hell Blizzard had to straight up buy a studio to get people working on WoW.

Blizz got away with treating people terribly and pay them pittance for years in one of the most expensive cities on planet earth because of their good name. I don’t exactly think people are lining up now.

I mean people beg to fire Presidents and Prime Ministers, why is a dev off-limits exactly?

Personally I can’t wait for the day I hear “Badman” gets the axe, and I assure once MS is fully in control that character design team is getting a shake up.

Because it is devoid of reality, and incredibly narcissistic to think you know best who should be allowed to work on the game.

Also, the developers and decision makers typically are not one and the same.

If a president or primeminister were to be sacked, they wouldn’t have to worry about where their next meal was coming from… The average game developer income p/a is estimated at $70,000. If you got fired you might be able to coast a few months on emergency savings but, game dev specifically is an industry where getting a job is not that easy.

LOL that is not how life works. People work in positions and get paid and lifestyle for output. I assure you if I was criticized enough by my boss, coworkers and people who benefit by the quality of my work I’d be out a job. People paying for a service retain the right to criticize. FWIW, no one is losing their job of criticism of devs on these forums, Blizz doesn’t give two poops what anyone here thinks.

It’s ridiculous to take these sorts of threads seriously. Nobody outside the CM sees them, and even if the devs and management DID see them, they wouldn’t take them seriously.

Nobody is in danger of getting fired because someone is mad on the forums.
