I myself, thought the animated Short was well done. It took TIME and artistic value to do as such. As an artist, myself and many others, they may find harsh criticism towards their art work. A “turn off” to wanting to do other masterpieces. No negative comments. Just a polite “thank you” here.
A job sincere and well done. Blizzard.
Thank you.

Typically artists want to improve and grow with the criticism in order to improve. If they run and hide from any critique then they cowards and furthermore bad artists.

But 4 second DM D.va never existed with shoot while flying and missile D.va. I can’t get immersed when the shorts aren’t accurate

Yes. Thanks for bringing to life my fav character in this game with this cinematic. It may not be perfect but the effort that went into making it still show.

I think any short that came after honor and glory was going to feel underwhelming.
Personally I enjoyed it, enforces the play as a team theme that has been present in most of the shorts.
In closing Thank you Overwatch team! Keep up the good work!
nah im not gonna say thanks for a lazy short

Yeah I feel that people were pretty harsh on it. Like I get it, they wanted to know more of the story, but it’s still a great looking short that was entertaining. I enjoyed it.
On a side note, it also got me excited for the new ace combat game.

It’s important to remember that the forums is nothing more than an echo chamber of bitterness. According to most people, this short was good, and it’s great to see that the team is back to focusing on the game itself.

Thank-you animation team, for the beautiful work done. Thank-you voice actors, for giving life to the characters we love. Thank-you writers… for at least trying. Not your best work, but we all improve by the day. I know the next short will be amazing. Peace!
The animation itself is great from a technical and artistic point. A ton of work is put into animating something. As you probably know, it took one year in development.
From a story point of view, it was bad to say it less harshly. Absolutely nothing interesting happened and as many people pointed out already, D.va feels like a Mary Sue. Boring on this part.
I think many people misinterpret the criticism as being against the animation itself, which is not. It is clearly about the story of the animation.
Anyway, they didn’t do any favour to me by doing this short so i don’t get the “Thank you” part of the post. I appreciate their hard work, even though it can result in bad creations(imo) like the recent short.

Thank you blizzard for the amazing short and for showing me my favorite character ever Dayon.
Short was boring and lazy… waste of thousands of work hours, millions of dollars and disappointment of fans.

I would wager that the story writting is the least costly part of such a work.
Yet it is the most important one emotionally.
And the story writing for this short is not just very good, it is a big let down…
That said, the art is beautiful indeed.
I liked it. Not the best short out of all of them, but still nice - the animation looked great.
To each their own though ![ ](https://d74zh8edaijub.cloudfront.net/en/overwatch/images/emoji/twitter/blush.png?v=5")
The animation and 3d artists did a great job and the ones who did the final render. Reminded me a lot of big hero six in art direction and style.
The writing was not my favourite compared to the others…

Lore wise, it’s lacking a lot.
But ARTISTICALLY it is beautiful. the bright lights of the MEKA and the city is a great contrast with the night sky, deep ocean, empty islands. The movements are fluid and clearly had a lot of time and effort put into it. They managed to make the visual aspect very very appealing. If you want a fun animation to watch, this one is pretty good.
