Everything got watered down, or outright dumbstered.
We could argue that the game is in a state of balance where everything is not giga busted anymore with some outliers ofc.
And it sucked all the fun out the game, at least for me.
The HP changes intended to get random burst dmg down and it achieved that goal, but at the cost of having some freedom of playmaking potential.
Genji and junk suffered severely from that change.
And it’s just boring. So please for the love of god can we make everything busted and op again, so we just have fun on all roles.
Because keep in mind, when everything is busted nothing is.

Overwatch was its best IMO, when it was more arcade then shooter.
In the latest dev blong on 6v6, they mentioned how they made “Overwatch 2 also has a greater emphasis on FPS gameplay”
They have watered down many abilites, and focus more on “gun play” instead.
Overwatch at its best was not about gun play, but the combination of gun and ability. There was balance.
But since they are wanting to focus more on gun, that balance was broken, as such the game has shifted, while some will find this new “gun focus” more enjoyable, many old player do not.
A example, Hanzo and scatter arrow, most people can agree scatter was broken at times, but it was more fun imo then the strom arrow.
I always have said that the OWL is what killed overwatch, the shift towards competitiveness and the changes done because of it, hut overwatch.
Thats just my opinion though

Yeah I pretty much agree on that point.
Going hyper competitive and trading many casual aspects of the game, ruined the fun for many players.

And yet I’ve seen several videos all saying that the problem with OW2 is that they cater to casuals
So which is it?
Hanzo, my poor boy T^T
I’m honestly really tired of playing hitscan, but it’s kind of all DPS has got.
I really hope they roll back these HP and projectile size changes from S9.

Yeah they should just revert to season 8 when Mauga was king
The people who say Overwatch caters to casuals are looking for the game to become a tactical corner camping shooter. Anything that moves the game away from that is considered “catering to casuals”.

The most favourite ow meta is dive how is that asking for tac shooter.
The people wanting dive aren’t complaining about catering to casuals. They are complaining about supports that are hard to dive.
That’s hilariously wrong.
Like what does this even mean? Do you KNOW what high elo players want?
Do you understand that overwatch was only ever a “tactical corner camping shooter” when double shield and brig bap was a thing? And literally NO ONE (regardless of casual status or not) enjoyed it?
Like please…
Most people who say the game caters to casuals are high elo players… most high elo players like dive.
I’d like to but first define what is fun.
If you ask me, yes… as a beta player and someone who bought the disc version, every since free to play became available they cater to them… the veterans are being permanently banned or suspended too often because they’re toxic, but in reality it’s the new players and they’re catering to the report system now. Back in the first 7 season they did nothing when you reported anyone, now its a suspension or banned… so yes they do a lot of catering to people who cry too much, last i checked you needed to be of mature age to agree to the online terms of playing online for your systems, knowing this fact adults are allowing and accepting the fact their kids will interact with other mature people but yet we’re too sensitive when it comes to competitive gaming and that’s where the fun ends… it has been washed out by “weak individuals” who can’t take competitive gaming at its fullest( the trash talk, criticism, etc.), we all know its a game but in the end who wants to LOSE!?! Not me i wasn’t raised to lose but to accept loss as a lesson and always push to be 100(win)!!! So the competitiveness has gone due to DEVS catering to the casual people just playing competitive and not quick play just for fun. . .

love this (no, i’m sarcastic) now you can only play hitscans, if they wanted a gunplay they can create a cod game like, ow should be not ‘‘GUN PLAY’’ but ‘‘SKILL MANAGEMENT PLAY’’

If they go 6v6 that’s the perfect time to to roll the hp buffs backs and the tank ones while we’re at it.

First few seasons were amazing and boom changed!!! Reaper lost the ability to grab souls, that was fire!!! Rein was the ultimate tank and now people dont even play rein and he’s one of the main tanks since the beginning… fun was the early years of OW1, 2 has shown me its no longer about the game and more about the $$$ sorry not sorry

That breeze you felt was my jokes zooming above your head.
see the problem with making jokes like that is that here on the forums, I’ve genuinely seen dumber people say dumber things while being dead serious.
You summed it all up for me.
Everyone wants all the nerf to the point where the game might as well be a bunch of kids playing with nerf toys, You already got people crying because they got hit in the shoulder, Imagine playing Dragonball Xenoverse 2 and demand everyone don’t use transformations and that all Saiyan forms just be cosmetics.
No wonder people love total mayhem that and custom are the only modes where I feel free and be as powerful as I want.
I have to see Marvel Rivals is more and more inviting, I said I wanted Rogue and Jean but Storm is there and I love me some Storm and Peni being a D.VA even though I called it out, I don’t see that has a bad thing, I do like trying something new with an air familiarity, It was the fact that Moze played similar to D.VA that I gave BL3 a try.
That said when I play a powerful character I want to feel their power.
Imagine getting to play as Superman and just plays like Batman with none of his weapons.
Understandable. I usually try to add a smiley face to the end of the post to designate it as humorous.
