Can we go back to fun pls?

I do miss the good ol days of people making weird comps to have fun. Now everyone is so serious.

i love posts like this. when dps is broken the game “fun” then they gigabuff support and the game sucks. then they gigabuff dps and the game is “in its best state yet” then they buff tanks and suddenly the game sucks again. why is that? oh maybe because when support and tank are broken they are broken because of the sustain they have. if nothing dies ow sucks.

Or balance the game and go back to S8…

There was indeed balance, now it’s 4 gunmen and nerfed Boss from random Boss Fight shooting another 4 gunmen and a nerfed Boss from a random Boss Fight

Its called total Manheim if i remember correctly

That is the only path they have for 5v5. You cannot have niche characters with an imbalance of players per role. They all need to be homogenized because “niche” just means “has a weakness” in an environment filled with already homogenized heroes.

Tanks cannot have weaknesses or the whole team will crumble (or the polar opposite direction where there’s no point in even playing tank because of how weak it is). If tanks don’t have weaknesses, then those people who specialize in killing them have no purpose (and so on and so on).

This format is just fundamentally broken to the core.

They didn’t though. They made solo flanking weaker due to health buffs and even gave diva a 3.5 second matrix. Where is the gun play there?
Tanks aren’t even someone you want to shoot at anymore.
I can rattle off way more than that probably. Just lazy having to saying the same thing all the time. OW2 is more of a moba with open uncontested sightlines. Unless you’re Widowmaker.

Definitely. It’s time to return to the casual experience. Nothing is competitive about these hitboxes. Stop playin’, playa playa.

To be honest, scatter arrow was fun for the person using it, not for the person receiving it. Wonky abilities like that make the game feel unfair which is why they changed it.

When this game was exclusively focused on fun it literally was elite. When it became forced competitive(failed miserably) went downhill

Hanzo, removed a ability (scatter arrow) and replaced it with a ability that just makes him shoot faster

Mei, loses freeze mechanic for slow and damage

Torb, loses collecting scrap to make armor packs, and upgrading turret, for a ability that makes him shoot faster and a set and forget turret that was nerfed for more power in gun.

Orissa, lost her pull and shield and drums, for more offensive gun/javilin play

Sym - Lost shield gen, lost oval shield, massive turret nerfs, ect, all for better gun

Bastion - unique turret ability and healing, turned into grenade and less unique turret ability

LW - so many changes and buffs to LW damage because people think if X hero doesnt do damage they are useless

Brig - lost stuns, overhealth that gave armor

DF - what ever happened to him

ect.

My point is alot of heroes have had abilites and some whole kits made less.

OW2 is way more gun play orientated now then OW1.

The CC reduction, the heal reduction, the midigation reduction, the damage increase (hitbox changes), more induvual impact, less team reliance (global self heal), all make the game more “gun orientated”

Now im not saying that abilites dont play a important part, they still do, just far less when compared to early OW1

People constantly cry about goat meta but it was actually the best meta lol.

I’ve been enjoying the games lately. I just play a lot of quickplay no que.

Fun requires going back to 6v6 and delivering an entire PvE sequel they promised. Oh and nerfing the support role into oblivion.

The game was still terrible before season 9. October 2020 is the dream patch

It is dull. I miss the wackiness of OW1 where yes, it wasn’t balanced, but neither is it now but it’s also dull.

They “balanced” the game by removing stuff like Sym’s wavy beam and multi ult, Hanzo’s oneshot, Cass’ old flashbang, Reaper’s soul orbs, Bastion’s old turret form…
But it’s still not balanced and all the fun, wacky things are just all gone.

Almost every character’s gameplay has been reduced to “click them in the head and win”. Players who played characters like Widow thought it was unfair that any character like Junkrat or Sym could have the same kill potential because “they don’t have to AIM!!”, so they bitterly complained until Blizzard nerfed them to the ground and now hitscan reins as utter supreme.

It’s become just another game like CoD where all that matters is mechanical skill and the community and the devs favor people’s ability to click heads over everything and anything else, and the gameplay has to represent this.

I agree. Bring fun back to overwatch. Bring back anubis in comp

Fun? What’s that? You will sweat until the day you die and you will LIKE it!

We miss you Papa Jeff :pensive:

What i still don’t understand, with owl imploded, why they still chose to be hyper competitive focused?
All they did was dumbing down the skill floor.
And nobody cares or lets say a minority of the community cares about ow esport.

Sometimes it feels like playing Roblox without a real hero identity nor shooter identity we had before.
