Can someone explain the Sombra change to me please?

Cooldown is increased, yeah, but what does that second bullet point mean?

So, when I place down a Translocator, it immediately begins its cooldown.
If an enemy destroys it, that cooldown repeats.
If I destroy it or travel to it, I can immediately throw another one.

Is that right?

EDIT: Rephrased title

no, when it is either destroyed or deploys, its cooldown begins, instead of waiting for either destruction or for it to be used

So I don’t get a cooldown if I travel to it and the deploy cooldown has already expired?

It’s not a nerf. Just another item on the list that will make Sombra annoying.

you should not have a cooldown, as long as you waited the amount of time for it to come back, which means you can use it again once you use it, IF you waited for it to come off cooldown

Sombra was both nerfed and buffed.

The beacon was the buff but the hack was nerfed.

I called it “nerf” because the part I understand is a nerf and I’ve seen a lot of people calling it one.

But I’d rather understand before I jump to conclusions.

from what i understand, no

That is definitely confusing, I don’t think I get it either.

If I deploy my cool down beings…but if it gets destroyed? Does cooldown begin again?
Like are they punishing easily found beacons?

I don’t see any notes about hack being changed. What are you referencing?

hack wasn’t touched at all in this patch

The best application I can think of is hiding tp somewhere near point, tping there, emp and then tping out. Thus removing counterplay from an emping Sombra.

Man I thought I understood the notes but now I’m super confused about how it works in action. I literally have no hard drive space or I’d install and see for myself right now… :sob:

Seems like a twisted version they used with Sym’s TP. Full CD upon destruction but also the option of using it without resetting the CD.

Seems a bit of a nerf, if you use it any where near an enemy.

I mean her beacon was both nerfed and buffed at the same time.

It was increased in cooldown but when thrown and destroyed. cooldown resets instantly.

I think there is delay before the cooldown starts.
Like beacon gets destroyed, Moira says something and only then cooldown starts.

The delay doesnt last for 2 seconds though so its a net nerf

its more of a change to the power of the ability, instead of you waiting for the cooldown to come back after you use it (teleporting/destroying it manually) you get it coming off cooldown sooner, but its cooldown is longer, if that makes sense

IT DOESN’T.

So, you throw the translocator, it immediately starts its cooldown.

If you travel to it after 6 seconds, you get to throw a new one immediately.

If it gets destroyed within those 6 seconds, the cooldown starts over immediately.

So it’s an out of combat buff but an in combat nerf.

WTF?? This is gonna take some serious getting used to now.
