I used to main support back in the day and I am hard stuck in bronze on support. I absolutely have the deepest sympathies for people hard stuck in bronze. It’s total 100 percent hell on earth at the ~1300 range it’s a total leaver fest and thrower fest. Getting out of here is like just stabbing yourself with an ice pick. It is infuriating to play tank comfortably 800 SR above your support rank.
Seriously consider buying yourself a new account DO NOT play in bronze.

I honestly feel so bad for people who are legitimately in bronze. From what I’ve seen/heard, its a complete mess because of smurfs. You have countless players trying to get themselves down to <500 for meme purposes, and then you have the smurfs who think its fun to stomp on bronzes. This also includes streamers who do it for “content” because they aren’t good enough at the game to actually get that many clips of them doing well in their own rank. I’d be curious to see how many bronze matches don’t have smurfs/derankers/boosters/trolls/etc.
Agreed. It doesn’t prevent people from climbing out, but it is the absolute worst to play in a rank that regularly has throwers and smurfs griefing in.
It was hard enough to work on establishing the basics when the people who belong in the rank are inconsistent af.

Silver has TERRIBLE skill variance too. Trust me
Oh yeah, 100%. I still liked it though and it had significantly less variance than Bronze did for me.
I just got around to climbing my last account (I got 3 before role queue was a thing) out of Silver and I’m sad about it. I will never purposely throw, but I’m not happy about trading out my cool silver badge for the ugly gold one.
If you are stuck in bronze idk man. Everytime I watch a bronze game people are basically not even playing the game… like you can just walk behind people and punch them and it takes 4 punches before they turn around…
That’s because you’re playing in a well populated region where there’s actual bronze players who has bronze skill (aka NA). Not much point bragging about how “easy” bronze is if you’re playing in one of the easiest region lmao. Go play in korean server and tell me how easy bronze is.
ive played on korean server in plat - masters: its about the same, maybe harder because i dont speak korean, but thats about it.
I’m referring to bronze specifically. The skill can greatly differ between regions. To be honest, I’ve never experienced bronze in korea so I’m just going off of what people in this forum have been saying: that korean server has more skilled players.
But I do know first hand that our region’s bronze (OCE; Australia) is much, much harder to win games with than in NA bronze which are more forgiving. I’ve posted evidence of it in replay codes which you can find here: Which region has the best players? - #22 by Heinstar-6822
I’d be happy to show you more examples if you’re not convinced. But keep in mind that I’m playing these bronze games with >300 ping and still winning games in NA which would never be possible in OCE. Even with 45 - 50 ping in OCE, I’m losing more bronze games in OCE than in NA. Our region is so dead that bronze isn’t even bronze anymore. Higher ranks likely got pushed down due to lack of players leading to overall increase in skill of the playerbase even at the lowest rank.
I don’t know, I saw Cyx and Redshell playing in bronze and just messing around but still wins easily.
Yes, I’m sure beating on the Overwatch equivalent of little kids when you’re a GM is fun. If you’re a sociopath.
Funny thing, though. I play in Bronze and I have an entirely different experience than what you describe. I don’t experience a ton of leavers or throwers. Bronze Life is the Good Life, IMO. If you don’t like it we are happy to push you up into the higher ranks where you can do ‘whatever’ it is you are trying to do or accomplish or prove.

As I’ve said earlier, I deranked to 1400SR once I started one tricking baptiste last season. And I’ve been having trouble getting back to silver ever since, even after I started using ana again whom I climbed to 1743SR with by one tricking.
I never want to go back to bronze again as a support main in OCE, you just feel so unimpactful in that elo with so many uneven matches. I’m so glad that’s over now and the games have become so much easier to win now that I’m back to silver (even in my region) and most importantly, more fun again!
Which role are you referring to specifically? Because I mean yeah, I can imagine it being pretty easy stomping on noobs in bronze if you’re a DPS. Of course playing DPS in bronze is going to be a more positive experience because you you can just go tracer and stomp on everybody.

I remember my time in Bronze in OCE, it is just crazy hard to get anything done there, and the amount of smurfing is right off the scale. It is pure luck.
I was in a weird situation for ages where I had an account where I was playing support in diamond, and I still couldn’t get my other support account out of bronze.
People got NO idea how bad it is in OCE in bronze.
