Sigma is not working better then Zarya becouse Sigma is require much more skill to play.
Thats why even OP Tracer or Widow wasnt popular in low ranks

Not really. OWL has a full 6 stack at top level. People who play day and night and they get paid to it so.
OW ladder is a guy who came home at 7 pm and wants to play comp (even assuming he is in GM).
If you wanna tell me OWL is representative of normal ladder… well we have a problem.
GM/Top 500 are literally worlds apart, we have already seen countless times how pros would actually play comps that were considered not viable in normal ladder just because they have the coordination and the skill to do it so.

sure. For example past few months after hog nerf we saw Winston Dva Reaper Sombra Moira Lucio. It was meta two months.
And even in high masters i have never ever seen this comp.
But guess what i have seen? A lot of Zarya hog? Becouse in ranked on masters it works really well

No. He goes into the game and picks a Mcree. Then he see Hanzo 2.0 that wrecks everyhing in the game. And next game he picks Hanzo too and starts wreck everything too.
Or right now:
Some guy goes into the game as Rein. He see Zarya Hog in the enemy team that kill him and his team and he cant do ***t about that. And he swaps to Hog too.
After few games like that he will instapick Hog or Zarya.
Or he goes into the game and see how enemy Mercy res 3 players in a row. And his team is screaming “PICK MERCY!!!” Becouse they saw already how Mercy can carry.
And thats how you get pickrates.
Right now i play as Ana. And i see how i can heal anyone everywhere. How my good sleep or nade can carry whole teamfight, how nano gengu with blade can solo enemy team. And thats why i keep playing her.
Players are not stupid. They can actually see what works well in their hands and what doesnt.
Thats why pickrates are so different between ranks. And thats why in pro plays we have just another game.

I pick Mercy when we have hitscan, Junkrat, Symmetra or Pharah.
I pick Brig when we’re having trouble with Mei, Winston, Reaper, Sym, Zarya, Tracer.
Although both can play in any comp I feel that you get more value from both in different situations.
Just like me switching to Ana to counter Hog and Ashe (BOB).
Or switching to Moira. She’s always good against the likes of Genji, Echo and Sigma. Moira is great against double shields because of her ULT and orbs.
Baptiste is coming back for defensive comps. Lucio is good for a speedy push or to get your team into position.
Zen is good for supplementing bad DPS and has a great defensive ULT.

With all due respect, you can’t assume you know the intent of all the players.
Sure, there are some that fit in your bucket, but there are a lot of other people that play heroes for fun.
Oh and if they care about winning they will care about OWL meta, at least to some degree. OWL meta trickles down. Even the plats will watch some OWL and try to pick those heroes. It’s inevitable.
General trends suggests that people pick what’s effective. If they only picked people they liked then balance changes would effect pick rates as much. When a character is trashed, the small amount of people who are left are the one who pick the character because they like/ have fun with them. The majority leave the characters because they are not effective anymore.
In summary. Most people have fun winning. The minority of people simply like a character regardless of balance state.
It surprises me, that Mercy is picked at all, when she can’t protect anyone.
‘Than him’… so you only care about lucio? Well regardless he’s still second most picked overall this month. And just for this week in particular is Zen barely ahead of Lucio? Brig is far behind. I don’t know where you’re getting your stats from lol
Sure. And that “a lot” is a like 1% of player base. Just look at the overbuff stats and how hero with 14% pickrate can become a hero wth 0,5% pickrate.
Remember when Mei was “fun”? Right now she has 0.4% pickrate. Not meta = not fun.
Just two examples:
Mercy and Orissa - two most boring heroes in the game ever. Both had 14-16% pickrates becouse they was meta. So dont even dare to tell me that “lot of other people that play heroes for fun.”
double shiled meta? Just dont take it and play what you want. Ah okay you want to win so badly so you take double shield and force enemy team to mirror it.

What do you think about Brig being meta for almost 2 years.
Widow was made much easier to kill with 25 less hp. 
More like Blizzard actively pushes away players, who show even slight interest in non-FPS type of gameplay.
good mercy completely disable all dive attempts, just negate all damage with her pocketing + mobility, esp in ladder

Briggitte does both.
Most ults punish grouping, as their AoE is large enough to cover whole group.
Mercy loses to any healer, that can actually save teammates from death, as she got no “on demand” rescue abilities.
