I mean, that’s taking everything to extreme just as much as the people who said they never had 2-2-2. 5 and 1, happened a lot. 1-3-2 happened a lot. 0-4-2 happened alot. The games were most fun at 2-2-2. Because many people who flexed… flexed off of a tank or support to another DPS. If we want to talk extreme-5-1… was the worst to play with, which in my case, quickly ended up being 6 DPS.
Between the GOATs and double barrier metas, 1-4-1 with ball was an extremely common comp. Did you not play in 2019 or what?
So, I went in and played 2 matches as Torbjorn. Horrible experience. After that I went into normal QP, played as Mercy and had a blast. The 2 dps in my team were really cool guys.
Yes I too also enjoy Reinhardt only mode.
If they released it as-is to live I would agree. But since this is an “experiment” and has to guarantee of going live “unless it feels right” I’m willing to give it a chance.
They can continue to change it on the experimental card and try to make it work. If they can, it’s better for the game. I’m all for that. If it’s not then they’ll yank it and go in a different direction. I’m all for that too.
Without experiment nothing can change.
And isn’t definitive.
an applause for smart people that at <24h from the update they have all the notes for make an obective opinion. Right?
No you aren’t thinking clearly. I don’t care how much time they spend they are fixing a problem that shouldn’t exist in the first place there putting the entire role responsibility on player is a disaster waiting to happen. Number changes cannot change this unless the number change is taking the one role to a 2.
Lets list some of the problems of there being a one in the first place shall we?
-more griefing potential
-one player having litteral no back up for what they do
-Not actually fixing the dps que problem
-attempting at fixing the dps que problem at the expense of others
-network problems of a single person mattering more. Yes any problem is a team issue but when its your only tank that is going to hurt more than a role you have actual factual backup for.
- Making tank balance an even bigger sore point and even more of targets for witchhunting
-Making tank synergies even more important at dictating what the team can and can’t play. Oh my tank is playing hog and I want to play a hero that sucks with hog have fun with the reports. - Not having redundancies goes against good team building principles that have been in the game since launch.
-Ultimates have even less answers than they do in any other system. If they weren’t win buttons now then they are now.
I can list more and more of these if I wanted. still think no of this matters? I honestly don’t buy you not seeing or caring any of these without bias.
Someone with consistent network issues should not be playing comp, period.
3-2-1 is bad for tanks and supports I have tired it it is god awful. It’s dps pandering. Nothing more.
Maybe not Boycott, I think it has a chance as a new game mode but I do know the pain of solo tanking. Its not pretty.
The thing is if this goes live its not just comp that is going to be changing its going to be Quickplay as well. Blizzard makes it a point to keep comp and quickplay with basically the same ruleset so you can get used to comp without actually playing comp. And this is still one of many points.
Also not all network issues are expected. Even the best of connections has problematic moments now and then.
I mean, it came and proved us right that this is pretty much the same as before, there are some cool new toys tanks can use but it’s more of the same thing we used to have commonly, and with the not so very extensive patch notes it does seem like more of the same thing we used to experience - though the zarya change looks hilarious.
They could’ve made it a real test with more changes across the roster but they didn’t >.< Not saying I won’t test it over and over and over again myself, but as it stands my opinion of it hasn’t changed since before the mode.
Some things can be seen before they appear and understand the likely outcome, it’s an ability to THINK with your BRAIN rather than HAVING to wait until you can play it because you weren’t able to think about the likely scenarios 1/3/2 would bring >.> And upon entering - yeah, it’s kinda… well it hurts, and I don’t get to do very much on tank otherwise my team is falling over to the 3 DPS I am meant to be blocking.
Tanking in there feels like you’re glued to your job, like not the stuff they give to children, industrial glue, like if I move an inch away from my job I’m basically skinning my entire team It’s… not great. It’s not extremely bad but I’m also a tank main, I kinda live in a constant state of job so I’m numb to it, buuuuut I can see this going down VERY poorly for people that aren’t like me, which is the other 90% of the playerbase >.>
Maybe I’ll go check out World of Warcraft again.
It’s impressive how much the developers were personally committed to the game back then. That’s all I have to say about the patch.
My wifi can be inconsistent, but I usually have a QP game or two before diving in. No signs of anything wrong on the previous two games, not even they yellow “packet loss” or “bad connection” on the left. Then halfway through a round I get the little red square of doom. Ten seconds later, I’m back and there are no issues with wifi for the rest of the session. We win the game.
Should I just never play Comp again?
This is a test to see if they can fix the problem first and foremost. DPS is the biggest of all of the roles and three slots isn’t completely unfounded here as so many people state that they’ve had to play with this many before which is cool one minute but apparently terrible the next.
Secondly, grieding is always and issue having an extra DPS doesn’t diminish that you think people don’t grief in 2.2.2? Are you serious right now? This is very silly. This is an attempted fix and you have no evidence that it doesn’t address the que problem.
This is a community issue, this is at no ones expense because guess what: it’s completely optional to play right now and for the foreseeable future. There is no bias here and I still think you’re being ridiculous.
Are you constantly having long disconnects? Or are you able to play around it most of the time?
If the first option, don’t queue up maaan that would be a rood dood moov.
If the latter, hell you do you gl on climbing And I hope the problems get fixed soon.
Sometimes it’s bad, sometimes everything is perfect. It almost never changes in the middle of the session, which is why I queue QP first. Long disconnects do happen, but there are almost always issues right from the beginning and not out of the blue like that time was.
I don’t play around it, because I just go and play Minecraft if my wifi doesn’t like me.
Sounds like the basic ADSL internet experience.
I think the guy meant more like rampant disconnecting that always happens alot.
And the world appreciates you testing the waters before going into comp <3
Where I think you are going off track here is the “its a test” mindset. Get out of that and I think you might actually see that there are problems. Just because its a test doesn’t mean its a valid or good test. Or that the idea being tested is anywhere close to being a proper or good idea. You can test for literally anything you want after all. Like me having a third eye for instance I could test for that doesn’t mean I do have one or will get one anytime soon. Yes I know that this is an exgration but my point is this isn’t a topic I feel like can be excused by it being a test.
You are right its a community thing though and the idea that this is a test without flaws is part of a presentation problem that I and others have with this whole situation. You can disagree but those problems do exist.
I’ve been having a great time with it, solo tanking as DVa is cool af
