It wasn’t though. If it was d.va, Hog, Zarya and heroes like Brig, Lucio and Zen wouldn’t exist in the first place. The game you are baising your argument around has 5 people not 6 and isn’t even close design wise. Stop trying to make it fit.
The 1 itself is the issue if you can’t understand that it has alot problems in itself there is no point in contiinuing. It matters alot and is not something trying it can buy off. It will destroy the game if we let this change go through.
Its a problem that is being undersold by a wide margin and being constantly met with “just try it lol”. The entire try it point goes against the very basis of why this mode is a mistake.
The part where most of their argument was that there is only one viable tank, and that all of the tanks are hugely under powered was their argument against it.
Doing the work of 2 people wasn’t their argument.
That none of the tanks in their current form could work was.
Yeah the point is to test it - hence while I agree with the sentiment of solo tanking, getting people to tank the test results isn’t helpful criticism.
Is that “Destructive” criticism?
I think it should be tested as a reminder, I also think that the test doesn’t have proper balancing as the only changed the tanks when it actually changes the entire game around them, the test is going to have bad results because of that, it’s not the true 1/3/2 environment, and more than just tanks require changes.
The real issue is the responsibility that makes people avoid playing tank, and the whole point of their testing here is to see how it will affect queue times, this will have a backwards effect most likely as the tank player just got responsible for even MORE of the job making tank even less appealing than it already is.
Oh I hate hero pools too. I don’t think either is anything more than a terrible excuse for a band aid. But it is kind off to me that hero pools haven’t even really been used yet and they do this? It doesn’t inspire confidence in me to see 1-3-2 as long term if they shut down hero pools that fast and with less backlash.
The pocket healer strategy is heaps strong in 1/3/2, and since there isn’t 2 tanks to heal, it’s viable for you to actually pocket a DPS as a mercy while keeping your tank alive.
It’s probably going to be nice fun for mercy players, that mode reflects the strengths of her kit and the numbers too.
She was very well balanced for this ahead of time.
Except when they are literally trying to balance this problem NOW in the experimental phase. It’s purely experimental, hasn’t been implemented. And there is no we, we aren’t letting anything because we have as much say outside of feedback as any regular person, it’s the dev’s decision to make.
As I said, if you’re going to base this off of the no que era of Overwatch you’re not thinking clearly.
