I’m all for supporting BLM, but removing entire in game cosmetics like skins is a bit ridiculous.
At the end of the day, it’s a video game. If Blizzard are to support the BLM movement, which given their previous statements on politics and current world affairs, they likely won’t, it will likely be through advertisement and/or mini events based around the current black/mixed heroes in the game.
But removing cosmetics is just a dumb idea, honestly.

I’d be fine with greying them out till overwatch 2 in solidarity, till this thing no longer hot. It doesn’t have to be a permanent removal because it’s fictional police.
People need to get a thicker skin, this is pathetic.

Secondly, these are just skins. If they get removed, what’s next? Ban every buddy cop movie ever? Ban GTA?

I’m black myself and I still go for healers first as anyone to give team advantage. Just because they have a police skin which is actually nice, doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be allowed to target healers just because they are black. It’s basically the same as saying “you’re showing you’re racist by having a police skin equipped and eliminating a black character in game”

Mods also closed my thread saying “Anyone who can’t handle a spray/voiceline/anything in a game should probably play something that is E for everyone” because apparently that’s trolling but this post isn’t? 
Doesn’t make much sense to me considering the noose spray was never about racism & was a direct reference to McCree backstory/inspiration & that’s what I was defending. Not that it matters, but it had far more likes than any other comment disagreeing with my OP, so clearly I’m not alone in my thinking. (it also had more likes than this post, which should tell you something on how odd it is that this thread hasn’t been removed, I guess for fear of backlash & being accused of racism even though it’s clear at least to me that it’s a trolling bait thread)
I’ll make no further comment on it to avoid any further disciplinary action but uh…definitely weird if you ask me. Not sure what’s trolling about that statement, this game is T for teens. There’s ESRB ratings for a reason (and online interactions are not rated) & suggesting someone who can’t handle what’s in this game should stick to a more family friendly one seems logical to me. I mean, I wouldn’t recommend Doom Eternal to a 10 year old. So not sure what I did wrong tbh All in all, I accept but disagree with the mods decision & Blizz’s decision to remove the noose spray.
Imo, they should never have removed the spray, just punished those who used it in a racially charged way. (assuming that was the reason they removed it, to avoid those scenarios)
You get offended way to easily. I’m black and I remember being a kid and taking a vacation to south Florida and our vacation home was not but a few miles down from a Klan gathering area. I remember playing in the yard and a bunch of kids called me sand (n-word) and tossed rocks at me.
With that being said. I have no problem with the skins and don’t much care for the BLM movement in general.

Yeah, I ran across a scummy LEO yesterday while running a load of beehives up to a new location. I was going slow in an area where the roads are bad, and the LEO acts like he wants to pull me over. Starts tailgating my truck and im from a different county.
I think he finally realized what was under the nets of my truck (beehives) and that if he stopped to bother me. There would be honeybees out to greet folks , but still. tailgating me and profiling people just to harass them. IMO enough is enough at this point.
If people want their Police Reform. Fine by me.
- Work your accident scenes
- Sit in the ditch and clock people if they are speeding 10+ over.
- No questions may be asked on a traffic stop unless the plate or vehicle model is reported stolen.
- Swat raids ended. If they sell to an undercover. They can use that as admissible evidence on the same day. and bust them by surrounding the house. (has to do it in under 4 hours or less).
- No rolling speed traps.
- DOT CMV (commercial motor vehicle) inspection rules changed.
I drive semi trucks and if anyone here has ever heard of “random DOT checks”. Yes, the police can randomly pull your truck over and harass a driver over a “safety inspection”. Which both wastes time and fuel. most of the time the officers aren’t experienced in driving truck and pick on the wrong reasons why a truck should be 'out of service".
Why do I feel that no one who makes these types of threads really cares about societal issues at all, and they’re just trolls stirring the pot to see the reactions?
