I 100% don’t blame them. I wouldn’t want to directly communicate with anyone on the forums if I was a Dev. This place is a clown fiesta, the first thing any Blizzard rep/employee would be met with is hostility and name calling.
They have increased communication from their end. They didn’t say it was going to be in the form of direct back and forth conversation.
They, unfortunately, get communication from us via the forums.
Thanks to a chunk of the community we won’t ever be able to have true back and forth communication as a community with the Devs or their reps.

When Jeff left, Aaron had some pretty big shoes to fill, but he didn’t even get a toe in.
When you work in customer service, you expect people to be ‘toxic’; it just comes with the job.
Yeah, sure people have some stupid complaints and make absurd ‘nerf this and nerf that’ posts but people also have a right to complain and be angry about the [unfortunate] direction they took this game.
Instead of addressing the real concerns, they continuously sweep them under the rug and expect their players to smile and open their wallets.

Yes it is very much our fault to treat them with disrespect and toxicity.

A lot of gamers fail to realize that communication is a privilege. They do not need to interact with us at all. And most developers do not. What we had back in 2016 was them going above and beyond the standard.

yeah i remember some cheater claimed to be banned wrongfully and then jeff just drop the truth bomb that he is been cheating and received multiple report too

Most of it, yes.
Because people are trashing them directly (the ones who speak) for not speaking and blaming them from Exec decisions.
Again, its easy to claim they “avoid criticism” but they really don’t. It gets annoying after a while when 90% of the replies you get are blaming you from someone else’s decisions.

If it were constructive critism it would have beem fine.
But these “critism” descend into barbaric yelling real fast. And the devs were not allowed to say anything back so it s just 1 sided massacre. No company should let their employee expose to such toxicity.

Basic logic. Also you probably need experience working at one of these companies.
Change is about reducing 1 sec CD on an ability etc? That’s a Dev decision about game balance.
Change is about monetization, how seasons work, the roadmap, content released or not, reworks ? Yeah that’s 90% on Execs.
Problem is community people are the 3rd dudes on the chain, so getting trashed because the 1st or 2nd stuff gets old. Really fast.

ive noticed even made a thread in the past on this, this is what happenes when you dont buy enough 20 dollar skins.
Big corporations yes.
Those happen all the time. When you give feedback about an app not working or the UI not doing what it should (no bug), how the escalations work, how the chain of command aproves things or not, they are all the same.
Its not like Videogame companies have insanely different processes for those things.

Well they once explicitly said they view the Forums as biased and hateful, so I’m not surprised.
I wouldn’t mind this as much if they at least relaxed their rules. But nooo, I still get suspended everytime I make a post about Tracer’s feet.

Also they already came up many times with who is behind what decision, its not really “guessing” or “claiming” anything.
If you pay enough attention, you would know many of these things.
