I put myself in the shoes of the chronic leaver: what would I do if I got a ban or a temporary suspension, but still wanted to play…
Perhaps a cheap new account would work.
Maybe you should think about why they’re leaving, which is usually because the team they are on is being stomped and it’s literally impossible to win, and they don’t want to sit in a match that will drain them and ruin the rest of the matches for that day.

And yet, I regularly win games after a bad start where someone quits. Maybe you’re right and it was impossible to win, until we lost the dead weight and got somebody better. Leavers never improve at the game because they just cherry pick the easy wins.
90% of games I stay in that are stomps do not turn around. I very rarely leave games but sometimes it’s just so awful I can’t stay for it. Being trapped in spawn while the enemy team brags and does voiceline spam is one scenario I just don’t want to bother with.

I finally got a hero I’m good at in mystery heroes today but the game was cancelled because most of the enemy team left. The next game after that, my team wasn’t doing so well and a few of them left. I usually only leave games if there’s an emergency or something urgent, why can’t I be matched with people who do that too?

the solution is to play with friends that won’t leave midgame.
not to do sports or whatever.
that doesn’t help with the game experience.

leavers are already punished in comp. doesnt matter in quickplay or arcade.

Yeah leavers are pretty obnoxious. What’s almost as bad are people saying to play ranked to deal with it…which makes zero sense as it doesnt resolve the experience of leavers in a game.
Sure I can’t be backfilled into, but that also means that if someone on my or the enemy team leaves, then it’s typically a perma disadvantage.

I dont agree with that. Someone purposely making the game experience worse for others by leaving will never be acceptable behavior. If they lack what it takes to finish a pvp game, then they should stick to single player games

sometimes leaving is the only option for toxicity in a quickplay, it works better than reporting

In the rare cases where someone is that toxic I just mute them, so they’re only toxic to themselves or whoever hasn’t muted them. I have no need to leave

i try not to leave games, but if the healers aren’t doing anything in quickplay or arcade, or only healing their friends, and im constantly dying, and saying group up and nobodys doing anything, i might leave. i usually don’t, but if it happens multiple games, i might just leave to speed it up, it gets fustrating to just chain bad matches together. i usually end up with a better team, and it works out for me.

Personally, in OW1 I never used to leave games cause I cared about my xp and loot boxes.
But now with the BP and no account level I simply don’t care about xp! Give me -1,000,000 xp on the BP lol I I don’t care

We leave this game because they shut down OW1 and OW2 is nothing alike the game we loved.
Imagine Blizz actually “dealing” with leavers? Like what? if i was punished more harshly for leaving matches in a quickplay, i would 100% quit playing, plus toxic players troll you more, if you cant leave. being stuck with throwers, unable to leave, and with a useless reporting system, would be the end, for me.

What doesn’t help with game experience is you guys attitude towards this VERY small problem…
Solution: don’t get mad, just play.
Stop expecting EVERYONE in the world to play JUST like you, there are billions of us in the world remember?
You ever think leavers might just… have schitt going on? More important to them then some freaking game…

It also feels a bit like there is not really an end to the game because of what you are saying. Usually when all these things like the cards and potg (with healers) where present you would stay till the end just out of curiosity even if you were in the losing team. Now the game is designed this way, it does not invite you to stay. And does not reward you either by showing you your cards etc. Also i think that most players do not really feel included in a team anymore. Also because some of the map designs do not force players together but quite the opposite, all over the place.
