Woah woah woah you guys…. It’s “just allegations.” Just because a woman says something happens doesn’t mean anything….
And all the allegations of sexual misconduct ignored in OWL/Contenders. Swept under the rug to paint a pretty picture for fans, investors, etc.
I would certainly hope so.
I just read all of these. Very nasty. Boomers man. Not all of em, but.
this whole situation is gross as hell and i hope the women get justice
Kinda funny how they had a hard stance against sexual harassment with the sintraa thing and now here we are. Yep, done with you blizz/activ, later.
The “old guard” left right after the merger with activision, unless this has been going on for longer than would be tolerated, I doubt they contributed to it.
There’s no justice for sexual abuse. My sister and a good friend of mine both were victims (not of this but of abuse). It stays with them for a very long time
Rightfully so, Sinatra is a clown….
But yeah yeah, allegations are “just allegations.”
This is just absolutely disgusting and I feel sorry for the woman, her family and every other employee who had to, or still is, dealing with this environment at Activision Blizzard.
Screw you Blizzard.
Seems highly suspicious considering how investigations seemingly have been rather messed up from the DFEH practising somehow heinous procedure and therefore have had to take a long time during which the company has had time to implement an infrastructure as a safety net and a channel for employees to deal with inner issues. I can’t wait for the conclusions about this to come forth considering how both sides seem to have shovelfuls of dirt on each other where if the allegations are acknowledged to be real it’ll be a massive loss of image for the company that’ll push them on the edge with massive titles coming up, but at the same time if they win the case there’s some high risk stuff in the allegations including dancing on a grave, which is something the people at the company seem to be extremely disturbed by
It’s popcorn time my dudes
Good.
I’m speechless
This is… I don’t know what to say.
I have to go away and think for a while. This is a lot, and I’m not in the mood to fight the trolls who will try to use this to incite chaos.
That poor woman and her family. Those poor women. This kind of thing stays with you for decades. I’m not going into how I know that. Disgraceful Blizz.
The real blizzard is long gone. This company is absolute scum. Activision will no longer get a cent from me. Apex better anyway.
I’m not saying all black people are criminals, but gang culture is mostly black people.
It IS racist and harmful to think that way.
Can we just stop with putting people in groups and stereotype based on skin color and gender and stuff altogether?
As for the OP… not really surprised. Blizz is a dying company and this year and next year just might be a nail in the coffin. Especially with this accusation.
OW2 will bomb because they can’t make a balanced game. The next WoW expac will bomb because they can’t write a decent story and FF14 has taken over the fantasy MMO market.
Diablo 4 has boycotters because of the “out of season april fools joke” of Diablo Immortal so it likely already has a bad rep.
Hearthstone, HoTS, and SC2 are all IPs that are dead and in maintenance mode.
Blizzard has nothing.
They will likely die and then either disband or be forced to create Call of Duty games.
I wanted to share an experience when I was younger about a themepark I worked at.
I was a ride operator, 19, it was basically a job I thought would have been amazing, like doesn’t every kid think working at a themepark would be really fun?
It was a temporary from April until November. My first day, I was put on the worst ride in the park, I paid no mind to it at first, I thought. “ah they are just easing me on so eventually I’ll get put on another ride” quickly I came to realise that all the male ride operators were put on the cool rides such as the roller coaster, Ship, drop tower and pretty much all the rides everyone loved, meanwhile the women were all put on rides for babies or rides that nobody ever went to.
The ride I was put on got a few visits an hour, always from very small children, It had no cover and my country it rains a lot during certain times of the year, so I found myself without shelter, being rained on for hours a day, nearly in tears. Left to stand in the cold for hours, and I would go home and just burst into tears on those days it rained.
The other ride I would be put on was directly in the sun, and this one had a shelter but the glass made it unbearable in there, and often if one of the men couldn’t handle being in there on a hot day one of the women would be forced to operate that ride while the man got put somewhere else lol, this happened to a few rides too.
The manager also would flirt with me, a 16 year old girl and another girl who he would pressure into illegally driving a train around the park, it had diesel (petrol/gas) in it so it could only be driven by someone who was legally allowed to drive a vehicle, if we declined he would bully us into doing it. It was his job to drive the train, and 1 other person and these guys often made us drive the train for the day while they sat in the office eating the theme park food and playing video games on a console and TV they had in the staff room.
Not sure why he would make us, I guess cause we were young we were easy to bully into it.
Sorry for my long post, just wanted to say my experience in a different work environment, though I know it’s not as bad as what the above has gone through.
Who cares ? Literally it doesn’t affect us. Ever company has bad press from sexual to discriminating its more of a trend in a changing cycle it takes a few bad things and people know want to talk when its already been going on for years ?
Oh and where did you get that information? Your butt?
There are mixed results on the demographics of people who play video games. While one study mentions that African American and Hispanic children make up the majority of video game players, a study by Pew Research Center finds that 73.9% of white children play video games compared to 26.1% of nonwhite children.
The Pew Research Center found that 19% of Hispanic respondents and 11% of black respondents described themselves as “gamers,” compared to 7% of whites. Nielsen survey research found similar results.
In her work, Adrienne Shaw describes how the gamer identities of players intersect with identities of gender, race, and sexuality.
Another Pew study showed that 89% of black teens play video games, as well as 69% of Hispanic teens. In addition, white and Hispanic teen gamers were “more likely than blacks to report feeling angry while playing online.”
I reported your comment for racism.
Neither statistics or reality was provided. In fact they’re wrong. Google it. The fact that people like you believe stuff simply because someone said so on a video game forum is scary. I worry for your generations future. Easily manipulated.
Sexual harassment leading to the death of an employee is something to care about…
not worth engaging. I think it’s a troll
