I’d say turn Symmetra back into a support, rework her so she can become a main healer! Echo was expected to become a support, but instead she’s a DPS, this also disappointed me in so many ways. Please give us something at least, turn Symmetra into a support to fix the “Echo is support” LIE! you told us.
He never confirmed it tho
Anyone who assumed support has no one to blame but themselves. You are owed nothing.
On the topic of switching sym back to support… please no.
They never said anyhting about her being supp sooo
I do not think the dps queue times are going to be fun after this.
This wasn’t the best idea from Blizzard to do this. I mean what can you do?
For a couple of weeks perhaps. This would be the case regardless if they did it now or later. Might as well do it now and give people something new to try.
I mean the hero design is a good one, but the timing is dumb as hell if they want to retain people for ow2.
This is going to have a permanent effect on queue times since there will be some support players who just look at this and leave.
I don’t see how doing it now hurts anything more then if they were to do it later.
The fact is the dps queues are always going to be jacked provided a new hero is released for that role and we still have role queue.
The problem we face is support mains that wanted to main Echo, she does have that aesthetic so I don’t blame them. What if they decide to not queue support again for the sake of playing Echo. What if the amount of supports that do this are in the majority since this has them feeling like they aren’t being taken care of, it is clear now that at minimum they’ll have to wait till the end of the year to have more options. So for them why bother? Consider what that does to queue times across the board.
Later they would be releasing a support along with dps for ow2. They would keep the support players.
Now?
I think we just lost some. But Blizzard will be Blizzard.
Then clearly catering to them is not going to be a good choice. Pretty spoiled attitude considering dps is the role that has been the longest without a release.
As for those who assumed aesthetics are a determining factor for support… their own fault. Being white and blue does not instantly land you in support.
I mean that directly coincides with their own design philosophy, but whatever.
You mean turn sym back to when she was useless and the only support she could give people was 25 shield health? No thnx.
It really doesn’t though as all three categories already have hero’s that “look” like they belong to different roles.
Hog “looks” like he belongs in the dps category.
Brig “looks” like she belongs in the tank category.
Sombra can easily look like she could fall into support.
There have always been exceptions to those aesthetics. Making it foolish to assume anything off of looks alone.
Hog’s size alone says he’s a tank
Brig is a mini Rein, her whole look dictates she’s intended to support him
Sombra is a utility hero, which are all DPS
This. Especially considering people saying she was a support had only her looks to judge by.
Meanwhile, every action we seen her perform in cinematics basically proved her as a damage. its 100% their own faults for coaxing themselves into believing an easily avoidable conclusion.
Its fine if Echo is a damage hero. A damage hero just isn’t something the game needed right now.
DPS roles have also been the longest with the most heroes.
We still have less support heroes than the amount of dps heroes we had at launch.
Sounds like it’s the people wanting more dps heroes that are spoiled.
I absolutely agree. Especially not one that is built on the prospect of ult spam and burst damage. The problem is, most people aren’t thinking like you. They think that the character was MADE to be a support.
You want to know how blizz can makea dent in DPS que time, put a pause of DPS hero development, focus more on making new support and tank hero that are very attractive to DPS players boom it will put a dent in que times as more DPS player play more of the other roles, just loading more heros into DPS just makes the line for DPS longer and longer
