the amount of damage bastion can dish out is impressive.
everytime he uses his turret you need to take cover or you are dead, especially when you are playing a tank with a big hitbox.
the only tanks that dont have to do that are dva and sigma because of their matrix defence.
since nowadays nearly every match has a zarya in it playing dva is less then optimal…
which is why im asking myself.
does bastion really NEED to be this tanky? especially since he is basically pocketed 24/7 anyway.
there are still people out there that have a miserable time against bastion, believe it or not.
he has 300 hp, a part of that is armor as well, add his damage on top. just…why?
he has no real mobility yes, but cree has no mobility either? and he has 50 hp less and no armor at all.
i should add that i struggle with him when i play tank. large hitboxes are prime targets after all…
if i swap to dva the enemy goes zarya, sym or both and im screwed…
He has no mobility without inflicting damage on himself.
His strongest forms limit his mobility by varying degrees.
His Ultimate requires a high degree of prediction or favorable circumstances to get more than one kill.
His base fire rate is atrocious.
His HP is small for his tank sized body.
lol, they’re suddenly very quiet. Facts must hurt.
I’m just tired of seeing him in every game. I’m hovering around Plat/Diamond now, and if the game doesn’t start with Bastion, they swap to him when they’re losing. Every, single, time. Without fail.
Well when the bastion gets like 8 buffs in one patch, it makes sense doesn’t it? Not to mention the one tank that heavily complements him also got heavily buffed to add insult to injury. All because blizzard rather force a meta instead of simply making new heroes to shake metas.
I mean, high metal is still metal. It’s not like Bastion wasn’t the “oh god, we’re losing” rage switch in OW1, you know?
Bastion is huge and easily hit by certain CC abilities in all his modes. There’s a support hero whose specialty is hitting long-range CC abilities on huge targets from downtown, perhaps you have heard of her…?
He is played a lot in GM. If you play around him he shreds tanks. Currently a lot of people play Zarya, bubble the Bastion and supports just pocket the hell out of him. LW really good at keeping him alive
Ironically he does a lot less damage today than he did in Overwatch 1.
Most Tanks can withstand his damage from Assault mode. Just need to work on the timing or eliminate him quickly when he’s in Assault mode.
Bastion only really saw buffs to his Tactical Grenade, his controlled burst, everything else largely remains the same as it was prior to Season 6. The newfound popularity in players playing him is more toward the idea of discovering that he’s actually pretty viable hero.
Not really. He does quite a bit of damage with it, with no spread, and better falloff ranges than most of Damage-role with similar weapon fire rates.
And here’s the secret: Putting resources into a Damage-role hero can win games for you.
Especially if they aren’t too mechanically disinclined, or fairly easy to get some hits with.
Sure. Bastion is just one of few characters that will shred even the sturdiest of tanks if you pocket him through damage. Not even fortified Orisa can stand in front of Basion. This isn’t true for vast majority of dps.
And if you choose to play around his sentry then enemy tank is free to push. This is especially true on short sightlines like Kings Row first. If you play around corner and Bastion pushes main, you kinda have to give up a point for a bit or you will suffer heavy damage. It’s like playing with off tank from OW1 lol
To be fair I don’t know if buffs to his armor even make a difference. I don’t feel like it increases his survability that much and people out of the sudden decided that he is a good pick. Maybe he is just more viable due to Orisa being rampant and he can shred her with some help of the team.
Please don’t assume that I have trouble dealing with him. Yes, I do play Ana and I can make his life Hell.
That does not take away from the frustration of meeting this hero in every match (and the same goes for the hero I end up having to play to deal with things like this).
My issue is not, “this is overpowered”, my issue is, “this is frustrating” and I’m allowed to vent about that. If I had felt it was the former, I would have asked for nerfs which I didn’t do, and won’t do because I’m not going to make any good suggestions if I find a hero frustrating.
I would disagree that he was as much of a rage switch in OW1. I actually didn’t see too much of him because he was that bad. I’m seeing much more of him now, because he’s actually useable finally.
