👋 Based upon these "interviews" I have to make a very clear point to the devs:

We need to see you here on the forums more.

You guys say your paying attention to community feedback, yet the true fans here on the forums hardly ever see this. You guys need to be on here more giving your insight towards things we talk about here almost daily.

It doesnt have to be an everyday thing but say like every tuesday or wednesday, one of you guys from the dev team comes here on the forums and talks about some of this feedback you guys are actually say your listening too. Especially that bastion topic which is probably the most neglected topic on the forum with almost if not already 10k posts but not a single dev comment.

You guys say in these recent interviews your listening to us here yet we hardly see. Please guys, talk to us. Doesnt even have to be important issues. Heck our “what pet would every hero have” topic got michael chu talking about what pet roadhog would likely have. It wasnt even anything regarding balance it just let us know you guys were actually reading the forums and had input on things.

We talk, you say your listening, let’s communicate!

Communication between devs and community used to be a two-way street. Now it is a one-way street. The community is talking, blizz is not listening.

A community day per week would be a pretty cool idea or at least a specific day of every month!

For a game IP that was so originally hyped and is still trying to maintain it… you guys certainly should talk to us more to keep us engaged!

Of course they’re not gonna listen to the buff mercy and genji threads, a lot of ideas about buffs or nerfs are just ridiculous, they’re either “buff my main” and “Nerf the last hero that killed me”.

In terms of bugs it’s inexcusable the lack of attention of devs. I was impressed how in the old forums it took months to get a response about doomfist bugs.

I laughed at this part.

To be fair … this forum is full of crybabies.

what only youtubers and streamers can be true fans? I think taking hours out of your day to read/write on the official forum shows you have some sort of higher dedication to the game then just popping it in for 2 hours after work to grind SR

The use of the term “True Fans” is an elitist terminology to promote the entitlement of specific players. Those who use the forum are more entitled because of an arbitrary reason or methodology.

It’s silly, asinine, and childish thinking.

What fans are they listening too exactly? The twitter fans? Reddit? it doesn’t make sense.

Well when you post on the “official” forum and the devs say “they listen to feedback” but we hardly see them here, where exactly are they getting this feedback from and wheres this communication they reference in the interview i clipped? If they arnt gonna respond here where are they supposed to?

They are hearing the ceiling fans. :upside_down_face:

The devs said they listen to all feedback from multiple communities. Discord, Facebook, Reddit, etc. It would be foolish for them to only look to the official forums.

They also didn’t say they took all feedback to heart (Since a lot of feedback is outright silly such as deleting a hero from the game suggestions they commonly get).

The forums is simply one of many outlets to express oneself to the developers. Not to mention there isn’t a unifying opinion among the developers themselves. They have internal discussions on what to do and disagree with one another on many things. So before they can take feedback into consideration they have to reach a consensus themselves.

Whats dumb is they didn’t say “We saw some really cool ideas that we thought we should try with torb and see how it turns out.”

I miss the old days.
We brought the topic about d.va so many times. Jeff didn’t even give us a hint that they were working on a skin, cinematic and a map about her (even though he hinted hazo and zarya skins in the past when ppl asked). I guess they wanted to surprise us but being silent only creates unneeded tense in the community.

Pretty much everyone who actually cares enough about the game is in the forums (and I mean those who are active daily)

exactly but as dumb as expecting them to listen to “every” suggestion is it’s just as naive to assume the forum has no good feedback at all. There are just as many constructive topics as there are rants here in the forums. It would just be nice to see the devs actually saying more. Like the comment on the ship in busan the level designer commented on recently. It was just small input to a question and it gave more insight to us why it was made as such.

They used to a lot more. Then the Dva megathreads happened.

And they listen to what they deem as good feedback.

  • Roadhog’s Take a Breather buff was a forum suggestion
  • Sombra hack on 2 second cooldown was a forum suggestion
  • They unerfed Lucio’s Speed Nerf on the PTR via forum suggestions
  • They removed Falloff Damage from Mei via forum suggestions
    etc.

The list goes on. Feedback they deem as worthwhile is implemented. Granted the playerbase is so divided on what is “Good” that any change they make is going to upset people causing them to run to the forums foaming at the mouth from salt overdose.

Nah. If reddit wasn’t blocked at work i would never come here. The competitive overwatch Reddit is a much better place for actual discussion than these forums.

The community talks and insults/flames Blizz; They don’t need to, nor should they, listen to that.

They listen to the community a lot of times, to the point where many of the changes (both popular and especially unpopular) were done based off what the vocal people wanted.

No, it’s that the label “true fans” is a joke. It’s gatekeeping. It’s exclusionary. It’s like saying, “Only true fans have the Pink Mercy skin and all-access pass to OWL and support Blizz’s decisions/actions.”

No, you can be a fan without devoting minutes/hours per day on these forums, just as you can be a fan without grinding SR or being a streamer/youtuber.

Smaller communities are usually way more friendly and reserved and they doesn’t reflect well the actual problems of the game.

Also it is expected from the devs to be checking their official forums before looking into third party sites.
