Autoban system is embarassing and pathetic

Dude, don’t post censored words from the infractions, they’ll literally ban you here on forum for it. I was posting examples and they literally put my forum account on hold for it and so called “game master” refused to understand I was just posting chat logs. Their rationale was I’m intentionally obfuscating swear words. I kid you not. Really, what I’m suppose to post bunch of ********** and expect people to just understand anything?

oh such phrases are definitelly banable. Just don’t write them

It’s fine. I think context is important. Uniquely important in this case. I’m serving my time as it were. :person_shrugging: And I’ve taken steps to avoid further problems in the future, so if anything Blizzard should be happy I’ve learned my lesson.

i got silenced on this acount some time ago, i send big chat log on forum, forum members decided it wasent for abusif chat, but simple spam, alto it where responses and actualy things i said, another forum member stated i had 100+ chat posts in game in a single hour

but as fact my acount help up 35 days for 40+ matches aday, i think if calculate my chat log on that i find it warented, only was confused i think my hotmail blocked the bliz email from acount action, so never know it was spam, either way i just got very confused cos in game it says abusif chat, i am crazy as a wambat, but not abusif, actualy i dont care how poeple play. but i am more careful last months, but i do agree the system gets more agresif, there to many poeple who get atacked, even if system needs tuning, witch i dont know, i do vote for it gets to agresif until a sweat spot it found and parameters are adjusted cos there is no reason why poeple quit becuase they get hate, and the most is not deserved, by same ofenders,

and in far future if there whould be prood from actual wrong mistakes by a system they could reverse. but until then i want system to get agresif, more and more until poeple come back and not leave becuase others

but i do vote for acouns with low investments on it go even more agresif cos there is no inetnive to just make a new account

I’d been making smurfs for 6 years and never gotten a ban until recently, to put into perspective how much stricter they’ve gotten.

Maybe once they see this cuts their player base in half, they’ll realize they goofed. Until then, on to different games.

I don’t need proof from the original poster. Even if the particular incident the OP is describing is false, I know it happens personally.

I’ll be the first to admit I’ve been banned for “toxic chat”. Blizzard doesn’t have much of a stomach for people swearing at not only cheaters but cheaters who proudly admit it in chat.

However I have been near insta banned (far too fast to have been reviewed) by a group of toxic players who were mad because I did too much damage on Moira.

One person in a group on my team kept complaining that I would occassionally use a damage orb on Moira and wanted me to swap to a Mercy and be his pocket healer. Nevermind one of his scummy friends could have done it but you know not being part of their group I guess I was supposed to be their chump and do whatever they wanted.

The SINGLE response I gave to this person after an entire game of badgering was “I don’t know if you’re aware of this or not but people can play on whatever character they prefer. Mmmmkay?”

That’s it. He started saying in match chat during the play of the game that everyone should report me for “throwing”.

Literally 2 minutes into the next match I got chat banned. I highly doubt that anyone from the other team went along with his little outburst. There was a total of 4 of them in his group.

I’m assuming they decided to try a chat ban on me so the 4 of these little weasels reported me for chat and I got auto banned. There is pretty much zero other explanation.

What the current auto ban and lack of anti-cheating enforcement in this game means is that Blizzard is admitting that their community (because of their actions as a company) is so toxic that it is beyond their control. They go overboard with “wokeness” and enforcement of “tolerance” to grand stand and virtue signal while allowing the actual game interrupting and community destroying behaviors to go unchecked.

It’s not about being offended, it’s about someone thinking they can get away with being a nuisance just because they’re online.

Imagine going somewhere in real life, say a bar, and shouting insults at random strangers trying to enjoy their night. Those strangers tell management that you’re going out of your way to ruin their night and acting like a jackass. You get kicked out of the bar, and rightly so. It’s the same with Overwatch.

As for ‘taking someone else’s game away’ because they were doing something reportable. No, they took their own game away because they couldn’t abide by the rules.

No one owes it to you to tolerate irritating behaviour.

Insults? I literally said “yeah right” and someone reported me on that. On YEAH RIGHT. WHO DOES THAT?! If this is the entry point for being reported, what’s next then? Like I said, disable chat if you want to have an account because the level of people reporting others is on whole new level of insanity in this game. And this game only.

must be the most vieuwed vidoe on youtube now:) but yea karma hits hard:P beutiful voice tho.

i came away with posting chatlog, system says i could get penalty if violoates, it just got removed and that was it, it might be cos the topic was realy helpful, and not atacking the system, for my personal case. think thats rare, it was a good topic, it just onlt got removed, i luerned alot from it, my chat log was from request data, and it was very very very long, but that was 45 torb levels ago

in long run i feel i must agree.

Not only that, but he was a brilliant musician…

Ban deserved

Don’t be the player everyone hates and you won’t get banned

As for your alts getting banned, I’m not sure what the deal is there and it doesn’t seem fair.

It’s not the friggin real world, it’s the internet. It’s just absolutely normal that you say stuff like that on the internet, even more so when you play a competitive online game.

If you banned anyone from using the internet who ever said something like “You’re dumb” online, the internet would be a sad and lonely place.

And even if you WANT to compare it to the “real life”, the bar comparison sucks.
The people who complain here were NOT shouting at everyone all night long. They were very calm, not racist, not sexist, not vulgar. Like me who just said “Go train high skill heroes in unranked, not in comp. You’re obviously too bad to play them in comp yet”.
Show me the Bar where you get to kicked out for telling someone “Man you smell, please wash urself” when it’s the absolute truth. They rather kick out the dude who smells.

Social norms are still the same!

The thing is you don’t get reported for what you say. I don’t get reported for what i say. I get reported because people get mad at me for being right when i tell them what they are doing wrong after getting more dmg and more elims than my dps while healing 7k on Zen.
They just don’t want to know they were playing bad or they really think they lost because i was “not healing enough” on Zen but they can’t report me for playing bad. So they report me for being “toxic”.

It’s just a bloody joke. As many others here i wasn’t chatbanned in years of playing OW1. Now, suddenly, i get 2 chatbans and an account ban in 3 months. They changed something and they didn’t make the situation better by doing so. It’s just hilarious for what you get autobanned now without any human checking if you really showed toxic behavior.

No they are not. People wish they were but they are not and you got to accept that.
Absolutely noone behaves like in real life when being on the internet. You always behave different on the internet, not necessarily by swearing though.

Yes they are

How old are you? Since when are you playing (competitive) online games? It used to be absolutely normal that people get rude over everything in online games. If you get offended by that, just block that person. You have the block option for those cases. Why is there any need to chatban everyone who’s just being slightly offensive or even autoban people who aren’t offensive at all just because enough people report them for nothing.

Oh and why do people only answer to small parts? Where is the answer to why things that haven’t been “toxic” in OW 1 are “toxic” now? Why could i play OW1 for 5 years not getting a single chatban and now i get 3 in a row even though i really took care not to be as “toxic” as before.

If someone says you’re bad at a particular rec sport that you are playing, do you call 911?

Serious question.
