I haven’t experienced the issue since last week.
Not saying the issue is resolved, just that I haven’t had it happen to me since then - although I’m definitely not playing as much as I’m getting some fps issues.
Have tried a few quick play matches early this week and I have played around 5 or so competitive matches tonight and have had no issues with either incorrect server or latency issues. All matches I have been placed into syd2 server and pings have been stable normally around 35ish and with 50ms at worst. Not a great deal of testing but hopefully resolved. Will report any further issues but wont be until the weekend that I get to play again. Thanks
My ping has come down from 50ms to about 47ms but im getting constant packet loss in game though no packet loss in my WinMTR I could be wrong but I notice that I have quite a few spikes where my ping sometimes triples once it reaches telstraglobal/overwatch servers and Im wondering if my game client is sometimes processing 2 ticks as I often feel like im missing animations. It is most noticeable in the scenario where you land in a junkrat trap+mine as sometimes ill see the trap animation and go straight to the kill cam and sometimes ill just see the mine animation. another example is quite often i can still jump when in a junkrat trap. Im beginning to feel like my ping is TOO average i.e. i dont have the benefits of low latency but also dont have the benefits of high latency (by benefits im talking about the favour the shooter model) one thing i notice alot when playing on the 140ms servers (pse1) I seem to survive taking damage longer and have less WTF moments.

However, the syd2 server is giving me ridiculous amounts of packet loss and frequent lag spikes sometimes every 30 seconds or so. Usually sit around 35ms, but i’ve been regularly going up to 50-60, and often spiking up to 150+ Not sure why we can’t go back to being on pse2, but here’s my WinMTR for that host.

Gone from a steady 30-50 to 55-80+ since around the time this thread was created, i occasionally get matched on pse but 95% of the time im on syd. Its gotten worse since yesterday, gone up another 10 and getting random spikes.

Server crashed, game hung so had to Exit to desktop then reload Overwatch.
Now getting placed in PSE1 servers.

It seemed to be fixed for a day now its back to being unplayable due to the unstable servers. Its shocking to think that a clone like Paladins has better servers than a literal billion dollar game franchise. This really isnt good enough.

it’s incredible how this been happening almost for a month and we’re just stuck here, This issue really sucks… Worst thing is that you guys keep putting the blame on our ISP when we both know that’s not the case. PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of people are being affected for this.

Been playing for years and never lost connection, only in the last couple of weeks. 3 games threw me out of server today. No option to reconnect even after you log back in - 200 SR YAY !!! Keep up the good work Bliz team !!

How many are still experiencing latency issues or an unstable connection specifically when connecting to SYD2?
If we can get some new WinMTRs that would be extremely helpful to help us determine the impact of this issue. Please make sure to include the date/time of when you ran the test and which IP address you tested.
Every second game today has had atleast 1 player disconnect before the match starts. will update with MTRs later.
Around 2pm 3/08/19 - syd2 server
37.244.42.20 as host ip in WinMTR
Game feels choppy and every 10 seconds or so there is a latency spike which causes the SIM to spike as well. Did not have these issues before on pse2.

Was good since around the 22nd/23rd for me, but today since middayish it’s back to getting games that go from 70-150 up and down randomly. (Affecting HotS as well again)
My service had seemed to resume to normal but tonight I have had major spike and ping issues. Have been onto my ISP and awaiting response and svc call but unsure where the problem lies at this stage.
When is Blizzard going to acknowledge that switching from AWS (PSE2) to SYD2 (Equinix) has had a detrimental impact to Oceanic players.
This isn’t even the original thread relating to these issues. I have a love/hate relationship with overwatch but the neverending network issues and bugs are sucking the fun out of the game.
I’d take a stab in the dark that the majority of overwatch players left in Australia continue to play it because of addiction not because of their love for the game but if these issues continue I’m afraid the community will lose interest in playing Overwatch. Australia is not a 3rd world country, geographically speaking were the same size as the US yet have one server we share with multiple countries and let’s be honest Western Australian/Perth players may as well be a different country to the east coast, I don’t get why a company as large as Activision/Blizzard can’t provide us with Quality dedicated servers when small Indie developers can.

The last game I played 2 nights ago, (3rd of august or so) I had massively high ping and now I cannot even connect. My title screen constantly says “Lost connection to game server” and prompts me to log in again, creating an endless loops of disconnected madness.
