I recently tried starting the game and noticed an update was available, so I went ahead and allowed it to install. After logging into the game, I tried starting a Competitive Match, and while waiting in queue I tried entering a skirmish. After the notification that the match is starting a banner pop up that reads Applying Updates and doesn’t go away no matter how long you wait. I’ve tried Arcade, Unranked, and even the Practice Range with the same result.
I remember this happened in the past a few times, so I figure support is aware of it.

Posting to see if anyone else has encountered this.
Edit - Just responding to this to say the issue I experienced is now gone after uninstalling the game, deleting the directory where it was installed and installing the game again.
Hope that helps anyone who has experienced the same and is currently on the same version.
