There hasn’t been a ban wave since august 2021 in which they banned over 40k accounts:
You’d think with Overwatch 2 on the horizon they would maybe want to make the game look better for the returning and/or new players? This is the longest Overwatch has gone without a ban wave,
There have actually been ban waves that have gone out since that publicized post. This is observed when I see concentrated periods of time of users complaining they were actioned here on the forums. Understand the idea of a ban wave is to make it harder for offenders to specifically identify what triggered their bans (especially with cheating), but Blizzard works to constantly action thousands of accounts weekly.
As always, please use the in-game report tool if you observe any violation of the Blizzard Code of Conduct. If you have any information on cheats and hacks, send an email to hacks@blizzard.com.
I understand, yet I don’t believe that simply stating the numbers or that it was done would help identify what triggered said detection. They’ve done so plenty of times in the past. Either way, I’m glad it is still happening even if it isn’t being told to us anymore.
