Sorry was Blizzard suppose to make their minds up about Genji? Because seems like they can’t.

Heres a question: when should you pick genji over the other flankers. In vintage overwatch there were two reason to pick him over tracer, tho tracer became widely known as just slightly better:

verticality. Maps where high ground was really important, genji just had an easier time.

Dragon blade.
Now the problem here is there are now plenty of vertical options, and no one wants to be a dragonblade bot. I have no problem with multiple characters filling the same space, but if they dont so something wildly unique and of value, they just fall to the bottom. And genji has one of those kits that are just bad ny todays standards. And making bad stuff have stats good enough to compete just makes him op. And then even if you somehow succesfully tune the base kit to be in line with echo or df, theyre not going to let db be what it is and they probably shouldnt. So its kind of a conundrum. Genji is just an antiquated character.
My thoughts are they should completely rethink primary fire. Make it more like echoes and hanzos. Single fire. Much quicker recovery rate and maybe faster projectile speed. It has drop. 60 damage. Only takes one unit of ammo.
Edit: Plus, left click hs into dash into melee feels powerful and sufficently skillful

Bad change, this would kill him.
So marking someone with a shuriken and getting a reset 7 seconds later is not overloaded at all.
An oversight by the devs at the most.
This would lead to a ton of inconsistencies. Deflect already doesn’t work 50% of the time.
Genji’s not the only one who needs help, but he’s the case where Blizzard said that they’ll keep an eye on him and he’s being abandoned again

He can use fan to finish them off after the dash 
He’s already fine at masters and below. To make him better at higher ranks you have to reduce his guaranteed damage so he’s less effective in lower ranks and buff the aim/harder parts of his kit.
You say that easily in paper, but do that in game without getting stunned booped all over the map or get your target healed after using dash

Not even haksal can do that consistently.
That’s the point… He shouldn’t be able to kill off people consistently. Other chars like McCree/Solider/Ashe/etc also can’t kill people off consistently (in their case due to shields/Tank wall)

yeah DUH he’s gonna do bad in GM, the whole meta counters him and on top of that he’s genji, he’s NOT going to do well in high elo.
If you buff him you’re gonna break low elo

Other chars like Mccree/Soldier/Ashe/etc don’t have a death wish if they can’t kill consistently.
what? shields are super destroyable nowadays and they don’t have even got to risk their lives to kill, that’s why they’re broken they can do both things
