“Recent Genji buffs made him see a lot more play. This is great to see, but some of these changes pushed him a bit too far. We’re pulling back on some of these changes, specifically with a goal of reducing some of his burst potential, and we’ll keep a further eye on him to make sure he lands in a good spot”

I hope that you still got him in sight, because a .66% pickrate isn’t landing on a good spot precisely. Another thing that we want is Genji to lose buffs on things that made him easier (aka spread and reflect duration buff). And yeah, I don’t want broken Genji either, my june and july 2020 tweets just show it, I just want a version of him that whenever I lose with him I can feel happy to know that I’m learning a character that will be worth it c:.

Just buff his damage to 30 again and nerf his ult charge and genji becomes a decent pick.

it won’t be enough, he’ll still be too clunky for proper teamfights

the only use he’d have is oneshotting with dash rmb melee

I’d take a nano nerf i exchange of some ana buffs and revert deflect time and spread and buff more genji maybe 30dmg with .7 or .65 cadence

he would’ve been completely fine if they june changes never happened and he instead got 30 dmg plus an ultimate charge nerf

but no blizzard no :slight_smile:

Why do you think he should have that? Dash is the main source of his combos and deals 50dmg (not that much)

Nah, it means, that is it for the next 6 months to a year.

Mercy was given that line, when she was nerfed to 50 hps, and left for ages.
Moira was given that line, when she was dumpstered, and has been left.

It means, “we are tired of dealing with the character, and that is all you are going to see, so stop talking about them.”

or another way to read it is…

“we’ll keep a further eye on him and do not a damn thing”

Because he’s fine at masters and below. If you want him better in GM reduce his guaranteed dash damage and improve his shuriken damage :man_shrugging:t2:

50 damage is plenty btw when it’s guaranteed. It brings the average squishy to tracer health levels.

Nope, the problem was the combination of 30dmg (necessary with all the heals), fire rate (idk it helped him on bursting andwasnt that bad) and spread buff (not necessary change which lowers skill floor)
He was broken because his secondary fire could be spammed consistently and kill without combos.

With all the heals on the game? Absolutely useless DMG unless it’s followed by a Genji combo or unless it’s comboed with a pull or grav. On an 8s cooldown
Don’t try to nerf that because it’s not his problem, his problem are blade (nanoblade) and the deflect and spread buffs which made him easier to play

Deflect cancel: I don’t like it but I feel it’s necessary because the og way to cancel is very situational and could be timed
Deflect duration: Made him less punishing to feed, it’s like the Dva armor change, only worth when you feed
Spread buff: Allowed Genji to get fast and easy blade and allowed him to kill without requiring short range and combos.
Nanoblade: Requires valuous cooldowns and/or ultimates to get shut down and is frustrating to play against.
His dash is pretty much balanced

Ok fair enough… I’m all for Genji having 30 dmg but then players will start complaining about him

Even if he gets 28.05dmg people will complain. He’s a character that when he’s better than you he can just win the game by himself, but that only happens when people don’t know how to play against a Genji
