I think ketchup might taste different in different parts of the world. So that might be a reason for discord over this topic.

That’s the joke.
I always viewed it as a last resort if there’s no chili or BBQ sauce available. Ketchup is fine, but not great.

Hotdogs with Ketchup was something I always viewed as childish, as in, a taste you enjoy as a kid, but eventually grow out of. I never knew adults were eating it until I saw a big debate about it on Twitter.
I hate ketchup, but on hotdogs? I can sort of tolerate it with enough mustard to contrast that terrible taste.
