As many of you have probably noticed, when the new patch launched, Competitive 27 prematurely ended and the Competitive Play card is currently locked. The Overwatch Development Team is aware and is investigating. Also, according to what I am told by Blizzard, it sounds like this was unintended. Meaning we should have both Role Queue and Open Queue once they fix this. I do not anticipate any changes to Competitive when the new season begins.
Also there’s no Flex queue in the ExpCard.

Don’t worry, Open Queue and Flex Queue features will still be around. There are no planned changes for season 27.
Did you know there use to be a deliberate 2 week off season for Competitive play? After season 1 the mode was simply locked out. That didn’t go over very well. After season 2 they started an unranked offseason mode but everyone like to throw and some left games (and there was no backfill for offseason matches).
All patches have a game breaking bug recently…
