Aim assist removed

Then they should nerf PC to ensure they can’t do stuff console players can’t do, like flick or do quick 180s or AD spam :person_shrugging:

It’s only fair and makes the game more even after all… Isn’t that what PC players want?

Honest question.

Why didn’t you take the COD approach and do input type matchmaking. As soon as a map loads in COD you can’t switch input method as long as the match is complete. You can’t fool that system.

That way aim assist, balance and even competitive balance would be easy to achieve. And even PC players with controllers could be matched with other console controller players.

Very weird implementation like it is now because you have the worst of all worlds.

But it’s not a distinct advantage over a mouse. I can set my dpi to control my mouse movement to the pixel. If aim assist console was an advantage over a mouse, OWL would play on console. Plus other advantages pc has over console: faster refresh, swiping for flick shots, faster turn speed, AD strafing, crouch spam. PC is superior to console in every way even with aim assist on console

Aim assist is fair
console players need it
PC player against Switch player with no aim assist is crazy

any PC player complain about aim assist is bad at the game

No, it’s not fair. PC, unlike console, cannot opt out. You cannot force solo queuing PC players to use a controllers because the matchmaker decided to put a cross platform team in the match. If you restrict only the players in those groups to controller, it doesn’t solve the problem.

If you want an even playing field, then instead of striving for the least common denominator, you should be asking that they officially allow mouse+keyboard usage on console and place those players in the PC pool when detected.

Fortnite has aim assist, Destiny has aim assist, Call of Duty has aim assist
Doesn’t every other cross play shooter have aim assist?

It’s not helping me, I either lose aim assist or get longer queues. How is it supposed to help?

“Hey guys! We’ve finally added crossplay, so now you can play Overwatch with your friends no matter the platform they’re on! Oh and also we’re going to disincentivize you from actually playing with your friends on PC by taking away the only way you could possibly compete and have fun in PC lobbies.”

I’m a PC player, but c’mon guys. Aim assist for console vs PC is only a problem in low TTK games like COD.

The forums? Where? Find me 1 post of players saying this

What do you mean? You get shorter Q times and can keep your aim assist.
Just don’t group up with PC players :woman_shrugging:

Just type “crossplay” into the forum searchbar.
It was all over the place even before it got officially announced:

they probably don’t want a bagillion reports when people inevitably mistaken the aim assist for aimbotting

No, I don’t. They are not any shorter now

Yes, but ONLY if they group with a friend on PC.

If they solo-queue on console, they will only play other consoles.

Console can also choose not to take part in crossplay in their settings.

Hope that helps.

This is just unacceptable. Playing on console feels horrible without aim assist. You just gave us a golden nugget but before handing it over Blizzard just took a massive dunce all over it. “Can you remove the poop please.”
Blizzard - “If you don’t like it just don’t take the nugget.”:rofl::rofl::rofl: What a joke.

I have seen a lot of people claiming that their Q times are shorter now :woman_shrugging:

“aim assist”
look what they need to mimic a fraction of our power

stay on console, inferior peasant

Dps might have dropped a minute or so but it wasn’t much. Tanks and support s were at 2 mins before, still at 2 now

Cross play did next to nothing in the eastern US

Fair?

Aim assist only exists to compensate the fact that you don’t have as much control of your thumbstick compared to a mouse. Heck, even with aim assist on I would still bet my money on the M&K player.

Aim assist doesn’t provide a “distinct advantage”, it provides a mean to equalize the playfield with M&K players, who are the ones who actually have the “distinct advantage”.

It really doesn’t help that in their patch notes they refer to Soldiers Ult as “aim assist”. People get such a skewed idea of what aim assist actually does.

The aim assist in this game for controller is a simple slow down over the target which goes away as soon as you’re off target. No one would ever mistake it for an aimbot.

Pc/console crossplay is only for non competitive, what does it matter anyway!

You simply don’t have to use crossplay. It’s that easy.
