Stereotyping is generally a bad way to pre-assess performance. The only time I can reliably predict poor skill is when I hear a kid and their friends laughing it up as though they are calling Moeās Tavern. I have never once seen a quality squeaker party.
Actions speak louder than words, let your gameplay do the talking and theyāll shut up about how you sound real quick.
I didnāt read all posts but I dislike and will usually try my best to stick up for anyone instant targeted for age/sex. (donāt see the gender thing too often and those people are usually hopeless so I just say report and mute)
I always argue
āLet him play, you donāt know anything about him. Plus, I find middle schooler/high school players to be better since they tend to have more time on their hands to sharpen their skills. I know I would get my butt handed to me by my 16 year old gamer self. Us old people tend to lose our edge.ā
Keeping in mind the game is rated T by ESRB, in my country at least, I get annoyed when kids who are younger than that are playing and call out everyone on else on their team with almost every curse word. Itās a little ridiculous some of them do this
I donāt think girls are bad at the game. Kids typically instalock genji, Hanzo, or some other DPS. And they are often very chatty about things outside of the game. That is why prefer not to play with them.
I feel like criticism of childrenās skill is more a reaction people have if they happen to find a childs voice annoying, or theyāre jealous a child made it to the same rank as them. Iāve noticed children who make only a couple of call outs mostly get left alone but ones that talk a lot seem to make people angry which leads to them calling them bad at the game.
I personally, do find childrenās voices incredibly annoying (thereās just something so frustrating about a squeaky little boy screeching āI got a pick! I got a pick! Get on the point! I need some heals!ā), but I donāt get angry at them because Iām only 17. I was their age a while ago and I understand that everyone has the right to play video games.
I also think its partially because (from what Iāve seen) kids play the game with a lot moreā¦zest? Theyāre more eager to go the point and want things to move faster. So they group up less and tend to try really hard to get picks which can get them killed early. Itās not really their fault, itās just how energetic little minds are wired
