It’s absolutely horrible. Blizzard (since I can’t name names) talks about the “fantasy of the hero”, but absolutely nobody’s fantasy of being a tank is having your shield LITERALLY die in 1.5 seconds and then a hp pool that’s essentially less than a squishy’s since you’re easier to hit. I don’t care if the team has no tanks anymore. I’m not playing it.

what im seeing is that tanks usually stay at front. this might be true for reinhardt, but a roadhog isnt meant for taking punishment. if he is singled out by all 6 enemy team members, ofcourse he isnt going to live a long time. tanks are meant to take hits while mingling in with the same team members. they are the HP supporters, if you will.
D.VA might be the best tank. she can deal flash high damage and cancel out enemy abilities completely. a hanzo uses his ult? just tab that matrix of hers and boom, damage avoided.

Oddly specific scenario you posted… have you tried other tanks besides Rein and maye Orisa? You might enjoy them 
I am done playing support. I have been In Silver for the last 3 seasons and touched gold once playing support and flexing to tank.
I’m going to drop to bronze playing tracer but hopefully I have fun and get better.

You should try playing Winston, Dva, or the Hog. You can also try Brigitte. She functions similar to Rein, but she can armor her allies and has a wicked stun. Brigitte shield isn’t as strong, but she is overall stronger I think.
did you try moira? she is support in multiple ways. her autoaim damage beam can also give genji’s a bad time.
How are u still silver when u won more games than me?
And… have we mentioned Reinhardt’s bugs yet?

Clearly you didn’t look at my profile. 16 hours so far on Moira this season.
The thing that bothers me about that is when I look at diamond- master level Moiras my stats aren’t that far off.
I have like 10k healing per 10 min 20 kills per ten min and 5 deaths per ten min. It’s frustrating.
Learning to play a dps is good. There been matches I been that the dps isn’t very good and no amount of support or tanking would have saved the game. During those times it’s best to switch to a dps. I managed to get a few wins from the jaws of defeat by switching to a dps. Worst scenario you lose anyway.

There is a genuine reason why Reinhardt players (if you can even find them these days) keep talking about Reinhardt bugs. It’s a sick problem, and the only reason why it doesn’t get discussed on these forums, is because there are few who still main him.

A storm is brewing. A Tank-killing storm.
1 - Reaper looked to be just out of range
2 - Rein got pushed out of sight (and with the weird favour the shooter system), the Roadhog probably saw Rein ult behind the pillar.
3 - Ana was clearly out of range
4 - This one is definitely a glitch / bug 
Playing Rein is like playing as a basketball tbh.
Playing Winston is like being a basketball but you can also do your own bounce now and then.
Playing Orisa is like being a basketball, but sometimes you can turn yourself into a rock for a few seconds.

I looked a few times, and she looks like she is just on the edge, but it looks too far out to connect in my opinion. Close, but it looks to me like she is just outside of the distance. It was a bad ult regardless, but that is a separate thing.

She is next to the pillar which is causing the earthshatter to be bugged out. She is clearly within range, she is even standing on the earthshatter effects.
Do you play Rein? You would know.
