6v6 will return if this fails

If the community loves S9 patch, the game will remain the same.

If the community hates it, 6v6 will return, tank synergies will not be balanced, and Alec Dawson and Aaron Keller will be shooting the entire community a giant bird as they up the prices for skins to $50 to support the servers holding two extra people per game.

Stop coping. 6v6 is done for, and they try to change the game up, because thats what OW needs: a big change. We play the same game for almost 6 months now.

Nothing “will happen” if S9 is not enjoyable. They will most likely fix numbers in the mid season patch and then tinker around for the next few seasons.

Well, they could go with before patch idea that does pretty much the same stuff, without the HP/Antiheal cheese.

Fixing how it feels against "Problem Heroes"

Any hope of 6v6 returning has been quashed

Nobody wants to play tank though. Queue times would be bad.

Lol why do I always feel like these high post count bot accounts always are the first posters in these controversial topics. 6v6 or open queue is the only way.

Funny enough I think the opposite would happen if you bring back 6v6 here

Currently with the 12 tanks we have… You have 66 combinations to choose from

Of course the higher ranks will find and pick the most optimal…

But for the lower ranks… Aside from the ones that will try and copy the higher ranks

More variety and more to keep it being happy and possibly fun

If they need to go back to 6 vs. 6…

I think everyone can collectively agree that the game just needs an entirely new team of developers.

The developers having to go back to 6 vs. 6 means everything that has been done to Overwatch 2 has all been for nothing, and the change to 5 vs. 5 was a complete failure.

Over an entire year of development would have been wasted on 5 vs. 5, when it could’ve all been spent on 6 vs. 6.

Bruh :skull:

Funny enough with PvE not coming to fruition… They technically did waste years to be exact because they realized not too long before OW2 release that PvE wasn’t going to be happening

6v6 returning? IDK if this qualifies as Doomsayer stuff or Hopium

6v6 can, and will, stay the way it is. Nothing more than a bad memory.

2-2-2 will always be the sustainable format.

1-2-2 is too 1-dimentional to last.

6v6 will not return.

Stop getting your hopes up for that pipedream. Overwatch 1 is gone, dead, buried. They’re not going to revert all the work they’ve done balancing heroes for 5v5 because for some reason, 8 seasons after 5v5 became a thing, ya’ll still haven’t adjusted.

If there was ANY chance of 6v6 returning, that would have happened in Season 2 or 3.

Most of the balance changes done for 1-2-2 would work fine in 2-2-2. The main thing they’d have to do is tune back the Tanks a bit, like -50 to -100 HP because there would be 2 of them per team.

The fact that you think that it’s so simple tells me you know absolutely nothing about behind the scenes game development.

They start ripping apart the balance changes they made to ALL heroes, not just tanks (because they were all adjusted to make them easier to play in a 5v5 format) and you’ll quickly find a massive amount of bugs and exploits appearing in the game, because you can’t just tweak a bit of code or values in a game and expect everything to run super smooth like greasing a gear in a machine.

Literally every single patch where they’ve tweaked character balance, we’ve seen bugs that has forced Blizzard to make some heroes outright unplayable (sometimes just in comp, other times in all modes, the most recent one I believe was Torb). Just imagine that but for ALL heroes.

they would never in a million years admit they were wrong. they would rather pull the plug on the game and shut down all the servers than do this.

On top of the -50 to -100 HP reduction to Tanks, they can revert Zarya’s bubbles to no longer share a cooldown, and make other minor adjustments to other heroes.

If the devs are willing to make a massive amount of foundamental changes to the game to try to make 5v5 work (it never will), then no reason they can’t put that energy towards 6v6; the superior format.

It literally is working right now. It’s just that you 6v6 is best muppets can’t accept that.

The game has been running in 5v5 for 8 seasons. Not 1, not 2, not 5 or 6. 8…

8 Seasons!!!

The game launched in 2022, so it’s been like this for over a year now!

Seriously, if it wasn’t working then the developers would have already changed it. They’ve have reverted to 6v6 back in Seasons 2 or 3, 4 at most. That would have given them all the time and data they needed to show it wasn’t working, but guess what? The data shows it is working! And that’s why we’re still using that format in Season 8. While we’ll still be using that format in Season 9 and why you’ll continue to be disappointed in Seasons 10, 11, 12, and however many more Seasons Overwatch 2 is going to have.

5v5 isn’t going anywhere. It’s time to adapt, or get off the wagon.

I’m already playing significantly less than I used to (I only hop on to make sure I get any new hero released in the battle pass at tier 45, and hop in the practice range here and there).

5v5 combined with Doomfist, Orisa, Roadhog, & Wrecking Ball being bad Tank designs, even more so in 5v5, makes the game consistently frustrating for me, so those 2 things are why I rarely ever play PvP matches.

I have hope that they’ll go back to 6v6 at some point (especially because they’re doing other fundamental changes to the game), so I’m just keeping up with the news cycle.

What’s the problem here?

BTW I agree with those claiming that 6v6 will never come back. We should just stop spamming it everywhere.
