we did not beg for 5v5, 5v5 was FORCED on us… Ruined Tanks, Support, and DPS all in 1 go… Why? Forced role passives, Power Creep, Heal Creep, and ungodly amounts of HP buffs to everyone… 5v5 ruined the game!

They never ran the risk of this happening. 5v5 was a half-baked decision that they thought people would just accept so long as they got rid of Overwatch 1 in the process…

To be fair, some people did ask for 5v5. It did not come out of nowhere. In fact, most vocal 6v6 content creators were little shills who advocated for the format in the beginning because Blizzard bought them dinner… And whatever else happened that night.

Not nearly enough people to consider it “the community wanted it” though.
Even though I hate role queue, there was enough of a push for it I can admit the “community wanted it”, but not 5v5 is any reasonable capacity.

I’ve been playing long enough to hear every complaint about this game. Nobody complained about the 6v6 format ever in Overwatch 1. That simply was not an idea or even a concept within the community.
The players are continuing to call the format into question this far into OW2. Lets stick to the facts.

I want to know who is voting in these polls.
Surely every person voting in his polls has not played both versions and shouldn’t even be allowed to vote. I don’t think the opinions of people who have never played 6v6 should count for anything. And no, watching 6v6 videos doesn’t count either.

We know this is the case, they do not.
It is nothing but delusional to think 5v5 or 6v6 will save this game. We are beyond that. Give. Up.
Also some of you care way too much about the format of this game. It’s not that deep, and if it is, then you need to reconsider how important OW is in your life.

It isnt deep, I had more fun in 6v6 than I ever did in 5v5. 6v6 was taken away.
OW isnt that important in my life, but it was something that I enjoyed and it was taken away, which I am not a fan of.

Vocal minority except every poll done online is 40/60, sometimes the 40 being 5v5, sometimes the 60 being 6v6 and vice versa.

Jake’s community would mostly be made of 5v5 supporters.
Polls that are done by 6v6 supporting streamers end up with the higher percentage being for 6v6.
Even in his community where his opinion is the majority and the poll was inherently in 5v5’s favour, the best it could do was get 6% higher.

So far all I see is 5v5’ers attacking 6v6’ers directly, instead of making actual points for why 5v5 works (and kindly explain how nobody wants to play tank despite the role being gigabuff and requiring 50% less players compared to OW1).
6v6’ers simply represent people who are unhappy with the game at its core, and are trying to find a viable solution to that issue.
People like you on the other hand just come off as some fragile ego’d person who fears the risk of 5v5 going away and thinking you’d lose everything if that happened.
And I won’t judge you for that. If you love 5v5, I can understand why you won’t have that taken away. But now try to see it from the perspective of everyone who loved 6v6 and DID have it taken away. People even paid for it, and had it stolen out of their hands, and forced into this miserable 5v5 experience for years while the devs literally ghosted our voiced concerns and questions, shadowrealmed any official discourse of 6v6, and tried to gaslight us into thinking we were just being nostalgic.
Maybe try to see things from a broader perspective than your own narrow vision, Garrett.

Bro literally no one begged for 5v5 before OW2. You may find a dozen people on the entire internet who made posts about it, but in general nobody in the playerbase even considered 5v5 as an option, and there was a lot of backlash to the initial closed Beta 5v5 test as well. People did, in general, NOT want 5v5. Only the devs pushed for it, not the playerbase.
Gaslighting is not a pretty trait.

Where on earth did you hear that? Nearly everyone was cautious about 5v5 being implemented for the exact issues we’re facing today.
