5V5 is a mistake

I was on board at first, being a Tank main I was really hoping to be able to play against the enemy Tank as the rest of the match watched as two titans clashed atop Olympus, but no, it’s just fat DPS. Supports are weaker, DPS are overabundant and Tanks are fun-cancellers now, yay.

They might as well go 4V4 and super buff each Support, because Support Synergies will have the same, if not similar effect as Tank synergies.

I’ve come up with a sort of 4 role system. The Support role is split into the Utility and Healer roles. Mercy, Ana, Baptiste, Moira and Brigitte would be Healer, while Zenyatta and Lucio are Utility. Games could have any number of each role, such as these:

  • 2 Tanks, 2 Damage, 1 Utility and 2 Healer = 7V7.
  • 2 Tanks, 2 Damage, 1 Utility, 1 Healer = 6V6.
  • 1 Tank, 1 Damage, 1 Utility, 2 Healer = 5V5.
    Utility characters could work as either a 3rd Damage, or 3rd Support (or 2nd, depending on which option you prefer).

Lucio and Zenyatta I see as utility because their healing is out shadowed by other aspects, e.g. speed and damage. Other character such as Symmetra could also find a place in this role. Future necromancers, beast masters, recon, or general buff characters could also appear in this role. The single Healer role could be over-tuned, so the devs won’t have to worry about a dominating Healer duo and the Utility role can act as extra healing if needed.

I’m indifferent towards 5v5. Until I actually get to play the game I have no how idea how it’s going to feel compared to 6v6.

Well, kinda late to be expecting them to change away from 5v5.

You’re better off suggesting how 5v5 can be implemented properly

I think they over buffed her. Super said that the pros themselves decided not to play her because she was too OP. Plus, she lost all of her team synergy and now just runs and guns on her own.

then again you have to realize that healing has been decreased by 25% and the game is not in its final stage meaning that not everyone received their reworks/changes.

like i said before, you cant beat an updated kit with an outdated kit. so of course it’s gonna be harder

funny thing is that in the grand scheme of things…when you consider the past 5 years…its not really a lie if i say 6v6 was a mistake…

Honestly what can Blizz change in less than 12 months at most?

They’re so slow with changes. Just look at OW1 history - how long it took them to address MOTH Mercy, GOATS, double shield.

I don’t know, I played Tank for the power of feeling unkillable (and not insta dying to one-trick widows). If I wanted to play Damage, I’d play damage. Now every Tank is just WreckingBall or Roadhog, with more or less shields.

literally like it took them 6 months to actually acknowledge mercy 2.0 was overpowered

Yeah, at least 5V5 addresses double shield? Only took them 2.5 years and counting

Maybe 1 Tank, 1 Damage, 2 Utility and 1 Support? That way, double shield and overbearing Support can’t exist, Damage is lowered so Tank don’t feel like a joke and COD tryhards can play all the Utility-Damage they want.

I don’t see how 5v5 is necessary to implement the Sombra changes though? :thinking:
That actually goes for all the balance changes and reworks for OW2.

I’d like at leat hero identities be kept intact as much as possible and their mechanics preserved so OW2 isn’t another COD game. There also might be a chance they don’t entirely get rid of 6v6

I guess, but you’d think people would be more constructive, rather than just “I’M UPSET, DO SOMETHING ENTIRELY DIFFERENT11!1”.

Not only it is bad for the gameplay but also seems like a downgrade from OW1.
what is next? 4vs4 for OW3?

Nah it will be 5v5, the two supports will just be played by A.I and each dps gets their own personal perfect heal bot.

Then again, how many times people expressed their concerns about changes to heroes and were still ignored? I’ve lost count. You can’t please everyone, but they mostly please pro players.

To be fair, most of those are formatted horribly, and posted on locations with low visibility.

If the official forums have low visibility where should majority of feedback be adressed? Not everyone can go in that private discord server with the devs and streamers
