2-2-2 solves so many problems IMO

actually given that the 222 would require role queue it only enables them even more

LFG does not work because you have two options:

  1. Lock roles and have a more rigid, limited team than your opponent. 3 tanks counters them and we locked 2/2/2? Loss. Pharah counters them and our best Pharah is locked into tank? Loss.
  2. Unlocked role groups take much longer to fill and have even worse consequences. Now you’re just a 6 stack of strangers who may end up with 4 DPS anyway, against a 6 stack that trains together regularly, will start with a good comp, and know how to adjust to whatever you do. Might as well just solo queue so the other team is on even footing.

Best believe if I can’t play the roll I want I’m ducking out of the match. 2-2-2 would make the most boring game imaginable.

Ideally “normal” comp aka solo queue will not be needed at all because LFG is better at everything. The only real reason why people are not playing LFG is that it takes some more time to start. But the only real reason why LFG takes more time is that players don’t use it enough.

Players simply should start using LFG as their main way to play the game and ALL of their problems will be solved.
People need to understand that they cannot have fart queue times and perfectly structured teams at the same time. For better result you need to invest more time and effort. You want a good 222 team with main tank, off tank, main healer, off healer and 2 dps? Go LFG and build it by yourself as you want.

All I say is based not only on basic logic, but my own practical experience. I stopped playing solo queue entirely. I play only LFG. Yes, it takes like 5-15 minutes to build a team before the first match, but after that you will not have to wait so long because you can continue playing with same team if it fits you.
LFG is the best and the most right to play team based game.

The thing is, if people actually used LFG it would become “a second and seperate queue”.

I am all in for masking the issues, if they obviously can’t be solved.

Both cases can be easily fixed by simple talking with your teammates during building team. Talk with people before start, discuss what and how each player want to play. And kick anyone inadequate.
And if you cannot communicate then you probably should not play competitive at all. Because communication is a key.

If people actually used LFG it would become the only proper queue. And unlike set queue like 222 or 6flex LFG allows player to build their teams as they want and fill with players they like.

Kicking 10+ people every game doesn’t work, and the people who aren’t kicked see it and leave too. I’ve tried. LFG is 100% worthless.

Then why it works so perfectly for me every time?

Forced the 2-2-2 and the dive will back

That would make the game a ghost of what it can be. The meta would become so stale and boring and people would likely be forced to queue as something they suck at just to get faster queue times.

If you want a forced 2-2-2 to kill goats, you aren’t fixing anything
Pros will find the most effective 2-2-2 comp and the only way to counter it will be picking the same comp, just like Goats, Dive, Beyblade, triple tanks, etc
so congrats, you killed Goats but now If you dont play [Insert OP 2-2-2 Comp] you are throwing because the only way to counter this comp it’s via mirror match

Well my idea of how it would works is a player entering a game Q would only see the group of heroes in the role that they were placed.

So a Gengi one trick that was placed in the support role would only be able to select support heroes. They would not even see any other role heroes on the select screen.

If the one trick leaves game they get punished by receiving the same support role in every game that they enter until that role requirement has been fulfilled.

I feel this would solve the problem of one trick outrage.

Look the game is entering into a strange place where a portion of the player base wants some controls put on team comps and others don’t. This will continue to snowball until the game is so unhealthy and even more toxic.

If the game is truly going F2P then these systems need to be addressed before the influx of new players enter the community.

I am down for it, sick to death of facing two shield tanks who are on offence while my team has 3 snipers, one healer and two more rando dps…

Hard 2-2-2 is perfect for hardcore players and horrible for casual players.

Which is why it will never be a thing. (Sadly)

Well casual players don’t make Overwatch relevant in the gaming world. Blizzard has destroyed WOW catering to casual play. I hope they don’t do it wit Overwatch.

That’s exactly what they’ve been doing since launch. Brigitte and Doomfist are essentially smash keys and pray for the best. And it works. Even with all the huge nerfs to both heroes, they’re still a go-to picks.

Don’t let the forums deceive you, I’ve put countless hours into Ana, Soldier and Genji (my top 3 heroes), and yet I’m still so much better on Doomfist/Brigitte even post-nerfs. And it’s easier too!

so if i understand correctly… we queue up normally but are randomly thrown in a role??? without any choice as queuing? lol no thanks i’d rather play with a genji one-trick who chose to play dps and also refuses to switch than with people being randomly thrown into categories they might not be comfortable with. especially not in competitive.

Would have to learn all roles and become better players. Trust me top players would be fine. The rest of use would just need to get better (me included).

That’s really narrow thinking.

What you are proposing is a half mystery heroes, but instead of forcing people to play random characters you are forcing them to play a random role.

Getting better is important and sure with time people would become better. HOWEVER i am not willing to play thousands and thousands comp games getting thrown lower and lower and lower to silver or bronze just because 14 season in overwatch decided to throw support players to tanks etc. There would be no point in getting better, because no matter how well i would improve i’d always get that one new player who played like 10 games, got lucky, placed my rank and can’t do anything in a random class.

Again no thank you i would rather play with one-tricks.
