Quite often i think about how to face some very annoying aspects in this game that we actually all know and which make so many matches unsatisfying: dmg-insta picks, dmg only, no heal or support, no tanks, no team play and no adaption to the situation. if you notice the number of threads complaining about the evolution of ow or asking what keeps you actually playing, one could ask if there is something which could make the game more assuaging again.
mostly this mentioned behavior occurs in quick play where some ppl tend to argue: its just quickplay. which for me means: i dont care as long as there is no rating, i just play for myself. but they fail to see that its their chance to practice one very massive major part of overwatch: teamplay, gamesense and adaption (since every class can provide a huge load of fun actually).
one idea which came up more than once was a forced 2-2-2 which i strongly supported.
still i think about alternativesfrom time to time.
right now i say: make the ceiling for damage-classes 3 and the minimum 2. by this goats is eleminated if i get the tactic right. with at least 4 or at max 3 slots left you have to pick usually 1 tank and 1 supporter. chance is high to recieve a 2-2-2 or some other interesting tactics in future imo.
another possibility: make another form of rating in quickplay - not a latter but something ppl can see or make you feel rewarded… or give ppl a single player with strong to very strong bots so they can practice their chars and if they start caring for fun and their team they move on to quickplay…
I definitely think that a minimum and maximum number of heroes per role is the way to go. I had a thread about this a while back. I’ll link it in case you are interested in the specifics.
Honestly, every role needs at least one and no more than 3. Quad anything comps are not fun regardless of what role has 4. And any comp without a role, regardless of the role, invalidate an entire class.
GOATS may be meta at the pro level, but quad DPS or sometime even more, is reality in quick play and lower ranks. Both are unhealthy.
honestly i think 2-2-2 isnt about to happen because devs and / or many ppl will see it as to forcing, maybe resulting in leaving the game
in world of warcraft one could name the own role before enter the queue in a dungeon (dont know if its still a feature). the result was, that heal and tank mostly could find a dungeon very quickly while dds had to wait for a long periode.
why not to implement a feature like this here: mark the role(s) you gonna play and just be able to pick one of this role (at least for the first few minutes of the match, lets say like 5 or 7). than force at least 1-1-1. just as easy as that.
i talked of goats cause its a theme in the forum very often like every big talking person her would face it every 2nd match i for myself havent seen goats ingame ever! just thought its an actual issue and offered a possible solution (or at least thought about it)
