There goes my ability to play the next couple days while it installs. Seriously if they knew it was gonna be this big an update size it should let you pre-install it a couple days before so its ready
Downloading an entire games worth of storage size for probably one of the most barebones seasons we’ve gotten is peak clownery
Are you a console player by any chance? I have prehistoric internet yet it downloaded the prerelease content in a few hours and the update itself was only 320MB
Huh, I remember a friend of mine had a similar issue in the past where the update would go abysmally slow (like tens or hundreds of KB/s at most) and it never resolved until he just did a reinstall of the entire game. Then it went at full speed again.
That’s fluxuating quite wildly, but assuming the last 45 min was consistent, that’s like 1Mbps. How did you even download the initial game on that connection? It probably took weeks.
Is the game also even playable? What kind of latency do you get on that connection?
The game performs fine. And if it was the usual 200mb-2gb patch itd be no problem.
The issue is this patch is 9x bigger than the max size of a normal patch size with 0 communication or set up for people to manage that for season launch
Like i said above. 2024. Billion $ dev team. This stuff shouldnt be happening
We shouldve had a post saying
‘hey the next patch will be a bit bigger than usual cus x, y, z. We are releasing a pre patch the friday before so you can install the bulk of the update for tuesday’s launch. On Tuesday there will be a small 200mb patch just to push the update live + any hotfixes. Thank you for understanding’
Fixed the issue. Instead we get silence from a AAA $billion studio on basic stuff
