also (sorry for the pics idk lol) I didn’t measure precisely how many meters this is, but from here I am matrixing the nearer bot’s shots but not the farther bot’s shots. Which is actually closer than I originally felt like.

They got that number from a different thread, and you’re right that it’s incorrect, but hey, it fits with the motive so people will just use it regardless.
Me personally I would not have known I could reach the second bot from there (today)

I like that some of us have image perms.
Looking at it now, that seems… quite short. I guess it’ll encourage less high-ground matrix’ing and more “stay in your team and react to the grav” sort of playstyle.

It is 100% correct.
The area you can use the DM in from the point you are standing on is formed like a sphere. If you reduce the range of DM from 15 to 10 meters the volume of that sphere is decreasing by 70%
4/3 x 15³ x π = 14137,167
4/3 x 10³ x π = 4188,79
It also doesn’t matter if you cut the sphere in half because of the ground you are standing on or to only consider the direction you are looking towards.
The percental loss is still at 70%
Try moving your mouse while holding rightclick with D.Va.
The reasoning is that the area (sphere) around D.Va which can be reached by DM (without moving) has been reduced by 70%.

Even if you are correct, this is meant for a talk about the straight line distance, which objectively was reduced by 5 meters.
It’s not a sphere though, it’s a box that’s 15m long and 7m (?) wide.
