After playing all the roles in experimental mode, I think 1-3-2 will be great for the game if it goes live and I hope it goes live soon.
Playing DPS has felt unfair for a while since we have to wait the longest while having a much smaller effect on matches compared to tanks & supports who have a shorter queue and a larger effect on the match’s outcome. DPS pretty much have a win-win in 1-3-2, we get a shorter queue and way more control over the outcome of a match.
I always play tanks when I am too tired to be mechanically skilled and I still find it extremely easy to maintain my rank or climb since all I need to worry about is playing correctly. On live, tanks have way too much of an effect on match outcomes compared to DPS even though all you need is game sense versus game sense and superior mechanics. Although tanks don’t really benefit from 1-3-2 outside of the buffs, it still makes matches a lot more even feeling for DPS and support. The buffs are great and I like not having to rely on or play around another tank, solo-tanking has been fun for me.
Playing support has been nice too. My games usually have at least 1 self-healing DPS and the changes/buffs to the tanks let me focus on enabling specific players more. Supports have always had a larger effect on match outcomes compared to DPS since they can enable people but I am usually left with only a couple options. In 1-3-2, it seems like I have a lot more options regarding how I play supports.
I hope that we get 1-3-2 for season 21, it will save the game for me and probably keep me off of Project A for the most part.
