đź’§ Symmetra 3.0 is a failure, please revert her

I understand that a lot of effort was put into this rework, but it’s just bad. In her perfect meta they nerfed her until she was worse than how she was pre meta. They don’t even listen to the symmetra mains, why do we still have infinite TP?! It’s bad, doesn’t work.

I get it, she wasn’t very viable in 2.0, but atleast she was fun. Now she’s not viable or fun, her winrates are at an all time low and she’s got about 1/3 of her pre rework pickrate. She’s not popular, why not just let her be more enjoyable to the few people that actually want to play her?

You could even rework her back into a support, give turrets 25hps and 50 health, reduce the cooldown a bit and Bam you’ve got a nice off healer. You could even give her 2 sets of turrets, 1 set of damaging and 1 set of healing, maybe you could give the damaging ones wall hacks. Give her sheild “sigma mechanics” and let her control it’s movement, lower it’s health to maybe 350 or so?

I just want to be able to enjoy symmetra again, I’ve hated this rework since it’s come out, it’s been a balance mess that’s not even allowed to be viable.

Symmetra has the record lowest play time in OWL, shes actually got more time in owl using 2.0 than 3.0. you can’t even get her to work in pro play because of the nature of her kit.

I’ve had multiple posts with over 100 replies, multiple comments with 50-100 likes, nothing. Some of the biggest threads on the forums have been about symmetra, and none of the have earned a dev response. My most popular post ever is a post about the annoyance and frustration with Symmetra

Please, just fix symmetra, shes been one of the least viable heros on ladder and the least viable hero in OWL. You could atleast let us play her in workshop again, or let her use her old assets.

Please just give us symmetra 2.0 back.

Or atleast a variation of her

please give her back…we love her… Sym 2.0 with throwable turrets.
She was more effective, and not to mention fun.

It was a honor and a privilege to be one of the rare people to play Sym 2.0 and make her work.
Sym 3.0 is niche even more then 2.0, and God knows the bullying never stopped.

At least with Sym 2.0 we would have fun.

Its not 3.0, it is the nerfs given to 3.0 that was bad. Before the double barrier nerfs 3.0 Sym was incredibly strong.

Also Sym 2.0 in 222 would be way worse, your team would be stuck with one healer.

Sure, i’ll break it down:

Sym 1.0: Meh and underpowered

Sym 2.0: Very good on defense, very bad on attack, easy to play. She was Moira before Moira.

Sym 3.0: Good on defense, good on attack, but much harder to use.

Lock on beam, she gave hp shields, had to place turrets, teleporter ult

Lock on beam, had a shield that went forward on it’s own, had to place turrets, teleporter or shield generator ult

No lock on beam, teleporter on a cooldown, throw turrets and only 3 of them, shield ult

That’s what makes people want to nerf her that’s what they use to justify her being “brain dead”.
Give her something useful so the whiny DPS players don’t have evidence to why they got outplayed.

Like maybe idk her old shield or literally anything else would make sense. She literally makes things out of light!!!

No sym 2.0 was not good and overall sym 3.0 is much better. Sure I would love to have my beloved photon barrier back but I think a hard revert would be really bad for sym. All she needs is a revert on all those stupid nerfs she got in double shield meta and a longer beam to be honest. Jeff Kaplan please bring back photon barrier i loved it!!!
Ya’ll need to give up her turrets if you want change though. They are literally what everyone hates and why everyone dislikes her. Instead we can replace them with PHOTON BARRIER.

I would actually be OK with this.

Sym 3.0 is way more offensive than Sym 2.0 so replacing the turrets with a survivability ability would be better.

Everyone is like “the turrets are her identity they have a player icon poo poo pee etc.” So did reapers souls that he would pick up. Hanzo still shows off his scatter arrow in the selection screen.
Her thing is she makes things from light not her turrets.

Replace them with PHOTON BARRIER!!! So she can use it in close range to block stunts that get her killed like flash bang or mei freeze. Just think back to blocking dva bombs, earth shatters. It was so much fun and way more useful, I’d take it over 3 turrets any day.

In the meantime all i ever wanted for her is to go back to one of her first variants, the real Symmetra who was there to punish overreaching flankers with aimlock beam and with a sweet ulf of shield to everybody.

Good point, though honestly I do not think her turrets are her identity. Even in the comic she never used a turret.

I would say her barriers and orbs are her identity.

That symmetra was problematic and quite frankly required very little to get value out of her. I think we need to move away from this whole idea of her warding of areas from entry woth her 3 turrets because that’s what makes her a niche hero, turrets should be scrapped. Symmetra’s weapon could do with a range buff but apart from that I think it’s good. Her problems lie in the abilities but everyone is too scared to have them altered because “HeRoeS IdeNtTY”. Absolute :poop:

Drastically different.

Brig/dva are examples of minor and successful reworks. Symmetra 1.0, 2.0. 3.0 are examples of completely uprooting a playstyle.

First she gave shields the same as a repair pack.

Then she could throw out sigma shields and give aoe shields. Both 1.0 and 2.0 had 6 turrets placed, not thrown. Her weapon was also an offensive mercy beam for cleanup

I used to play and love sym so much, I used to think she is a hero with special strategy,
therefore the beam was weak but fine, I played like an assassin by using turrets and ult.

After the “buff” on sep?! is completely disappointed, it is a big nerf and it’s a mission impossible that they want sym to play short beam? She isn’t useful and can’t do much to change or kill someone even being healed! What’s wrong with blitz do you really hate her?

She is very weak to be honest, not situational, face the truth please. The only situation for winning is because the opposite team is weak or your teammates are strong enough to carry you!

Turrets are easily broken and low damage which need 12 seconds for renew one, teleport is not a attack or defensive ability which also need 12 seconds and no one plays teleporting bomb with you! All damage is weak and time-consuming. So why is sym’s win rate remain unchanged? It’s because no one picks her unless you really love her that’s how she do damage sometime lol.

barriers should be kept for the robot that have shown in Mccree’s video, I think there will be sym 4.0 because new heroes will steal her ability again and again!

Except we have never seen Echo use a barrier. Plus Sym has been shown to use barriers a lot.
