🐸 Lucio needs competition

The hero has been basically mandatory for like 4 years, I don’t think he needs nerfs I think he’s just like d.va and needs competition.

The closest thing we have is symmetra with her teleporter.

Make rally an ult that can compete with transcendence and sound barrier. Maybe armor pack gives a small burst of speed like power word: shield can in WoW?

I don’t think there should be a lot of distribution on speed boost; Lucio can have the aoe monopoly.

The problem isn’t just that he needs competition; it’s also that other heroes inherently needed him to be usable.

People always look at the main healer as the meta
they always ignore how Lucio was always right next to them
from one meta to the next, he was always there,
lurking in the shadows like the creep he really is,
feeding off the suffering of his fellow supports while he gains power

Well unless they add another hero in the game that can affect the speed of their allies and/or enemies, I don’t think there is much competition and he’s either needed or not.

But she’s just not good enough to complete with Lucio. She’s like so close but not quite there

Huh, that’s news to me, though I do t recall playing much when Bunker was a thing so that’s probably why.

Nevertheless, Lucio is cool so he deserves to stay meta (just imagine the frog with sunglasses)

There was one instance where he wasn’t a must pick and the Lucio community went up in arms,
His GOATS nerfs were right on the money, and with Reinhardt’s speed buffs after, those nerfs probably won’t even make him less ubiquitous in today’s Overwatch,
People will still whinge and moan because god forbid their feeder king get a nerf

Here’s the thing: ultimately, I think Lucio enables more variety by being viable than he disables, sort of like D.Va. And technically he wasn’t around for moth if we really wanna split hairs.

But Brigitte does deserve to have a competitive ult and more unique utility which would manifest her as better competition.

Yeah, we could really use another healer to apply constant low-power healing to the group while themselves being somewhat tougher to kill and having access to low-CD crowd control.
