Your friend request has failed, please try again later

I’ve been getting ‘your friend request has failed, please try again later’ for a few weeks now, people can add me, I can accept but I cannot initiate the request.

I’ve got 45 friends ish currently, so well below the cap!

Please help, it’s annoying!

There is also a limit for outgoing pending requests.

Check (and clear) “View Sent Friend Requests” under “View Friends & Chat” settings on the Blizzard launcher app.

I’ve just cleared it, most were 10-15 months old…now it works. Good to know! Thanks

This was the fix for the “Your friend request has failed, please try again later” error I was getting in Heroes of the Storm too! In the Battle.net app on Windows, I clicked the “Friend Settings” button (next to the “Add Friend” button), then “View Sent Friend Requests”. There were a ton of requests there from years ago I didn’t know about, so I removed them all, and that fixed the issue. Thank you!
