Just was thinking, what is making Xul so OP and in every draft, league and QM?
What are counters to Xul?
I know he has good wave clear, delayed point-click root, healing reduce, good ultimates, slow…
Why does he need 25% max HP shield on a 30 seconds CD in addition to his bruiser HP which slows, deals % damage or gives him 3 seconds evasion, when he already has strong abilities?
Also what are the best counters? Since he got buffed, I find it hard to face Xul. I rarely kill him 1v1 and is close to impossible to push him out of lane.
Initiate and wait with using illusions untill he has used either his root or cleave AA. Both can be removed by using illusions or swapping. When using illusions, try to keep moving so you’re on the other side of the illusions. Then when he hits you, swap to an illusion to remove the anti AA speed debuff again, play it right and time it right and by then his cleave-melee has timed out.
As long as you don’t blow your cooldowns too hard so isn’t there much he can do and as Samuro so can you always escape. Just make sure to save either illusions or swapping to illusions for when he has used root and you’re good.
1 - spread out
2 - just have someone double soak like he is doing (no you don’t need to win, no you don’t need to soak faster than him, you just need to catch the waves/exp).
Speaking of, Sonya is good against him as well. Her whirlwind build doesn’t rely on AA’ing and the level 4 talent allows her to remove roots. And Sonya can quite well compete against a xul in solo-double laning.
Same here, was a 1v1 I never did. She ganked me in my rotations forcing me to rotate safer losing a lot of time. And their Nazeebo came down frequently to soak and dmg me a little. Also she holded E or D when rooted to gain up to me again
I don’t feel he’s OP at all. I also don’t think he needs any specific counter. You counter him the same way as any other hard-puher - by rotating often and ganking him.
I think he has that bone armor because Xul has literally no escape abilities aside from rooting a single enemy and running. Also, for a bruiser, none of his basic abilities give much survability aside from his AA-slow on cleave-melee and he has no self healing/sustain either, aside from his level 7 talents.
Most other bruisers have base self healing and dashes.
Xul is a sitting duck who asks to get poked ans blasted before he comes in E range same thing with garrosh.
Why do you think he needed uther and a second healer to be used?
Well, but Artanis doesn’t have escape. Dehaka has burrow, which isn’t an escape. Malthael lacks escape, Sonya (unless talented spear or ulti) doesn’t have escape as well. Saying that he has no escape when like 30% of bruisers don’t have escape…
Also Rag doesnt have much survival-ability aside from talents, nor has D.VA…
Xul’s W can be talented to heal him, so he has sustain. Skeletons regain his % hp as well.
Just as I wrote above.
Rag doesnt.
Yeah, when he was played as A MAIN TANK he needed Uther and a second healer to work. Unsurprising right?
Just the point that you can play Xul as a main tank when having Uther + second healer behind you is impressive. So tell me more how his evasion + shield is totally fine.
Evasion is fine because it nerfs the cd.
Also xul is weaker 1v1 and better if he can aoe people locked in W and if he does not get blinded or stunned before it ramps up.
Xul has 0 mobility ragnaros has a speed buff , pve regen, access to armor , a better ranged ability.
He then has molten core which is on its own tier of power.
Also ragnaros is not struggling either.
You can find him ridiculous which i would not argue , and then i look at malth dehaka or leoric and even thrall and i frankly find them busted too on paper.
And at the end of the day something retarded like right click jimmy or valla are better heroes overall.
