Would it be OP to allow Abathur Ultimate Evolution clone enemy Heroes?

Well would it ? I think it would be cool to clone the enemy Jaina and blizzard the enemy, or kealthas and fireball and flamestrike them back.

Clone tracer low on health running away and kill her ?

I’ve always thought that’d be fun. Maybe at level 20 just add the ability to do so.

ahahahaha that’s so funny one xD

Eh. I mean probably not but I don’t think he needs any buffs atm.

The only problem with that is that the Ultimate Evolution spawns at the exact point of the hero Abathur clones.

In smite they have a hero called The Morrigan. She can clone every hero on the battlefield with her ult, but i think here in hots that would be not a good idea.

As much as I like the idea, they’d blow you up in a heartbeat.

What if cloning a enemy hero would be one ult from Duran/Narud.

That reminded me Mechastorm vid.

Thanks, now I need to watch it for the 21849230845th time.

That would be very confusing in a heated TF. Imagine losing a fight because you tried to cc the wrong butcher or something.

How would that be any different from when he clones a Butcher now though?

It’s not. You can have the same effect if you clone your own. Cloning any hero throws off the cadence of a team fight. Grabbing one from the enemy team wouldn’t change that, you would just put a giant target on the clone’s back spawning it in the middle of the team, assuming the development team would keep enemy hero spawns at said hero’s location and not elsewhere, say within X distance of them at a targetable area.

It’d probably be funny, but how will it Clone Enemy Heroes when the clone spawns near the target Hero?

Yes, he would be, but still i want to see it. Just for 3 weeks.

Yes, it would be, because it would force enemies into not picking specific heroes so aba can’t clone them.

This reminds me of a time when some ingeniously noob designer in charge of Sc2 thought it would be cool for protoss to have a unit which replicates any enemy unit. And it quickly turned out enemies would not get expensive high tier units in protoss match ups so they wouldn’t get replicated. Luckily, it was dropped.

I know, i know, different games, but really the concept is the same, and the outcome will be the same. HOTS has bans, so this would put abauthur #1 in bans.

I don’t think it would make it overpowered, but it would cause an odd issue.

You don’t see the same heroes on either side, and that has been the case for a pretty long time now. Outside of brawl.

While I think that It is obvious when a clone is ultimate evolution, I do see possible negatives of worse players not realizing that it isn’t an allied Jaina.

I would love to see it. Just would rather mention (the only) possible negative I could think of.

That’s actually a nice way to slightly buff Abathur and make him more interesting without any considerable power creep. The problem is though that the hero spawns right next to the target so it should maybe have twice as long channel time in order to give the opponent(s) proper time to react because you’ll most likely win the 1v1’s you take with the clone on a lane. That way even if you’d get stun chained or avoided most of the time you’d at least still have that option available to you so there wouldn’t be any harm done

Maybe a way around that is to add a rule to require ult evolution to be cast within 4 range of an ally. If you click on an ally never an issue since the target counts.

It would introduce an interesting aspect to Abathur, yes. I think it would be a solid tactical challenge… But I think the problems it would create would offset those too much.

As been stated, in any sort of game with drafting, you’re going to be familiar from the start with the rosters, and in certain cases you’ll want to pounce on certain characters the moment you see them… I could see some confusion with players attacking a clone of an enemy, wasting abilities. Yes, team communication can work around this, but there will be moments of opportunity so quick you don’t have the chance to speak up.

The issue of forcing the enemy team to think about their comp with Abathur in mind is also very very potent… I think it would really become a meta-level question and I would not be surprised if Abathur’s ban rate skyrockets in response.

It’s a nice idea, but balance… yeah…
