I was thinking ¿Would it be too hard to have “levitation” as a custom mount. Only with characters fit to it.
For example Tassadar, Tyrael actually move like that.
It could work with the Tracer skin, with Malfurion (he levitates while using his ulti) or with Kerrigan (also using Maelstrom)
I mean, if it cost 10k per hero “special mount” or even if it cost gems I would buy it. And it would be just like their regular/in ability movement animation. I don´t think it would be too expensive to do.
Malfurion and Kerrigan will not get flying animation precisely because they use the same animation when using an ability. They have said that they will not make mount animation that look in any way like when the hero uses an ability.
This is why Mal’Ganis can’t fly. Because he does when he uses sleep.
That´s sad. I didn´t know (when did they say it?). If so, Alarak´s deadly charge is a problem.
If that´s the case, it could be added more “color” in the ability effect, (like they do with Kelthuzad or Alarak mount), and that could make easier to notice if it´s an ability or just mounting (I prefer if the mount animation gets less “color”.
And still, a “levitation mount” could work with Tassadar, Brightwing, Auriel, Tyrael, Orphea, or even Sylvanas. And skins of Tracer, or Jaina (demonic)
During an AMA when someone asked about a flight mount for Mal’Ganis.
Tassadar already has his Mecha mount. So I doubt he’d get another unique mount animation.
The idea is really cool (and something I want for years) but… It’s important to be able to tell of a Hero is mounted or not and that would make it confusing (it’s also the reason why you can’t have a worgen mount for Genn just like how WoW worgens can run).
