Is it the theme, kit, or just overall fact that they are a sick Blizzard hero? (unless you like Nexus originals, I won’t judge) Enlighten me.
I enjoy Uther because he was one of the 5 first Paladins of the Silver Hand and he has sick lore, (but tragic too) being the mentor to Arthas. Plus I really enjoy his kit too. Saving my allies from imminent death is always fun.
I main abathur so I can go take a bathroom break without anyone noticing

I main Whitemane or love playing her because she is one of the Healers whose kit doesn’t get that diminished if you go for a damage build.
Her lore is somewhat interesting, a bit saddened that it’s bound of deception.

I reallllllllly want to be good with Alarak. If I am even half as good with Alarak as I am with greymane, I am taking the highlord straight to lvl100. But sad, cant get hold of him even after the valuable suggestions from Cain n Ghiski.

He takes a lot of skill and practice. You need good timing to be effective with him. Once you get that you pretty much are good to go.
I main Johanna and Jaina in Storm League because I want to get the fook out of bronze and if I play things with interesting lore or fun kits I’ll never get out.
True, the issue i believe is the minute lags. I miss my W in-game a lot. But lets see. Will come back to the highlord after I have my new laptop. I am forced to play in the lowest graphics possible, with 800x600 resolution for the game to b somewhat smooth 
That sucks. I play on medium graphics to make my game smooth, but in other games I have to play on low just to get a game that plays well.
Maiev is pretty much the Batman of WoW, love her since WC3. Melting enemies with constant Q resets is also pretty fun.
