If people leave or go afk when the match is loosing its an easy to abuse system
So its either you loosing full points or some gold kids in masters
Just make the leaver pay those extra points, and if the player is in a premade party or in a friend list with anyone in the match, those people don’t get loss forgiveness.
So in essence random players would get -20% point leniency for being stuck with a random AFK.
That players’ friends or party members would get nothing (due to the abuse potential) and lose the regular number of points.
I think it’s fair to lose 20% less when a random goes afk, because they are 20% of the team.
Still easy to abuse, especially when low gold and diamond can queue together. Just let the lost count 100%
Cause blizzard does not care about individuals in team games. If one person trolls, you all deserve the same loss. Its dumb
I don’t see the abuse potential if loss forgiveness doesn’t apply to party members or people in each others’ friend lists.
You just need to press queue togetter, and there is a great chance you will see your friend if you are around the same elo
Ok, but you need to be pretty noble to take a hit of +500 and an extra +320 (+40 for each teammate, +40 paid out to each enemy to ensure they get regular point gain) just for a friend who you intentionally deleted from your friends, and ran into by chance.
That’s quite a bit of points lost just so your friend may lose 160 points instead of 200 in case you lose a match. You pay 820 points for that personally, or 20x the amount of leniency your friend is about to receive.
People are really tryharders when it comes to boosting.
The best export from paid boosters is getting them from bronze to gold because people think they are worth being not in bronze
There are many extremes people go to when it comes to boosting their friends or just themselves
It will harm the good players more then it will do good
It’s already easy to abuse the system: bad draft -> exit. There is an extreme correlation between bad drafts, bad talents and bad matches.
If you leave a draft the lost count counts as 2. If you continue doing this the leaver stat increases
How is this abusing the system?
I thought people already had problems with gold scrubs. Sadius just wrote a lexicon of their experiences detailing that player quality is on a downward trend. I believe a few other users have claimed this.
So the thing they want to prevent by not having leaver in is kind of happening anyway. What now, guys? “I dOnT wAnT cRaPpErS” doesn’t work anymore because we got people reporting crappers in literally every rank from the top down.
MMR does not work like that. MMR is not a currency to earn or pay since it is related to the player skill. This is why leaver MMR penalty gets refunded over a number of games played.
It does. There is no more separate MMR and Rank points.
Your Rank points are your MMR as of August 2019.
It is no longer possible, for example, to be a high MMR Gold 3 player who bans over a Platinum 5 in a draft lobby.
The player who is Platinum 5 is now automatically higher MMR as well. Your rank points are now your MMR.
Ranked Points are now directly mapped to a player’s Storm League MMR.
Rank is no longer considered by the matchmaker.
It is a zero-sum game, where extra point deductions can be taken from the leaver and paid to people who didn’t leave.
Drlogan thinks strats at master could work at gold. Experience said otherwise. Nothing to overthink about.
People who say the people are getting worst and arent in GM are people with fragile egos who are just looking for an excuse that they cant climb
Each member on our side loses 223 points because we were favored. Every enemy player gets 223 because they were the underdogs. It’s just us paying them our rank points.
Leaver loses 500 (with no chance to recoup it), his teammates lose a fifth less points, the enemy gains full points. The leaver is the payer here.
It is exactly like a currency. How we distribute it is ideological. Previously you lost 600 points if you disconnected. To appease ragers, Blizzard set it to 500 and let you recoup it over 10 games.
They could make it stricter if they wanted to, it’s a matter of design decisions. They could also use part of that penalty to offset the disadvantage that players team had because he AFKed. Like making them lose less points, and that difference is paid by the AFK.
But you have an individual MMR, ironic much?
Except just because you did not leave does not make you any more skilled and the leaving player any less skilled, as your logic would suggest.
As it is leavers/afkers are a “zero-sum game” already since they are as likely to be your enemies as your allies.
It is not “paying” them since games with leavers are removed by averages. You are as likely to face a leaver as to have one on your team so in the end they have not caused any meaningful removal or gain in points. This is how it should be since their presence does not make you any more or less skilled than you currently are.
It was to stop people with slightly unreliable internet connections ending up playing games well below their skill level and stomping newbies.
Because this game is awful
For real! It makes no sense that you have your own MMR and yet it does nothing except for placement minus your 3 games. Like go all in on one or the other blizzard.
