Why do event quests need to be done in "winning games"?

Just forces everyone to spam the sht out of vs AI games = :residentsleeper:

Why can’t we earn progress towards event quests from all games, not just winning games…? PvP games should grant extra progress in general tbh…

No, please. This was done with prior cross-game promotions (such as requiring people to play Ranked and QM to unlock Overwatch skins) and it resulted in masses of people afking and going “just here for the skins, enjoy your loss”.

It is in your and other Pvp’ers best interest to confine skin/quest/event farmers to AI mode and not force them to go to a mode they don’t want to play nor know how to play.

the point of a game is for people to play the game but too many people try to tear themselves between a bunch of collect-o-holic apps that they make themselves too “busy” running electronics errands to play the games and instead want to go through a rush to demand they be given a collection for the sake of having it.

That doesn’t work so well for the player versus player aspect of the game as that requires people play the game to, ya know, play the game.

Even with the condition being winning you see people playing unusual because they want to maximize questing potential.

One of my friends was playing Rehgod and was consistently late to objectives because he was soaking exp.

I’ve been having a lot of wins lately. I wonder if it’s because people are playing weirdly because they are tunnel visioning on their quests.

And you are forget people will afk for loot ? And you will more enjoy losing

Not all of them. Just collect globes if you want.

to be honest I have more faith in the heroes community than this, but I agree because why risk it?

To prevent griefers from doing their quests instead of playing the game.
I wouldn’t bat an eye if they get reports for it

So you are not playing to win, but just to earn some meaningless cosmetics?

Frankly i am a sucker for all those cosmetics if they interest me.
But i am not selfish enough to bother people with my needs if i can help it so i go to AI do it at my pace.

Yes, all of them. Blizz missed to add it to the description, but collecting globes also requires you to win the game.

Anyways… I also find it stupid how they made things:
a) you play normally and win the game, but barely get quest count
b) you focus on your quest, but lose the game and get no quest count
c) you are forced to play against AI to get as many chests as possible.

I smell a lesson there.

No, there is one quest where you just have to play 3 games, win or lose. I believe it is the first Head quest.

Go to show that chasing after quests is a foolish thing to do. Also, there is the “win 4 games”. You can “play normally” and get it done in no time.

Another rat perfectly caught in the infamous “Skinner box”.

Yeah. I was talking about the repeatable quests.

it takes only 1,5-2 hours… Or more, since you can actually lose some of the games.
Or about 15-30 min if you play against AI

You must be new here… :*

I dunno, how am I going to get 14 events done in over 2 months…
You could finish the baseline quests with about 1-2 games day, with about a 50% winrate if you do minimum effort for objective.

Assuming a 50% winrate:
initial 7 objectives:
play 3: 3 games (3)
win 2 as role x4, 16 games (19)
deal 50K spell damage in winning: 2-4 games (21-23 games)
deal 35K physical damage in winning games: 2-4 games (23-27 games)

secondary 7:
30 takedowns: 2-4 games (25-31 games)
6+ multi kills: 4-6 games (29-33 games)
8 merc camps: 4-6 games (33-39 games)
MVP/role specific award x4: 12-16 games (45-55 games)

So, about 50 games, with a 50% winrate, and you should be able to finish the main even quests, and spent the rest of your games on whatever repeatable event you wish to do.

So far I’ve got 4 quests done, in 12 games.

If someone enjoys playing vs AI then have fun question.
If playing vs AI is boring for you then you should obviously not do it.
You can get rewards by just playing normally (trying to win).
I would never grind AI games for some stupid cosmetics. It’s not a role playing game…

I play vsAI games so I can farm out the quests “asap as possible”, but if you don’t mind to get those quests slower, you can just play the game normally. You have more than 2 months to finish them all.
It was 3 days for me with doing the healer (400k heal) quest in QM because AI games ended too quickly for big heals. So everyone should be fine in real games as well.

Because losers do not deserve to win anything.
