Why can the infernal shrines boss kill you with one stun

The infernal shrine boss needs to be nerfed.

With squishies like KT and Jaina, they have no way of escaping the bosses leap towards you and the boss stuns you while punching you to death. The boss literally leaped towards me as Jaina and killed me with 100% being basic attack from the boss! Our KT as well. Yes, I was 100% health and this was around lvl 18+

The boss needs an indicator with jump/leap so heroes can run away in time. The boss leaps way too fast and I assume it’s like 0.5 seconds to leap towards a hero.

Simply don’t be the one to lure the boss if you’re a squishy. Let the Tank/Bruiser do it.

The punishers leap toward “the nearest enemy hero” within its specific surrounding area since day 1, havn’t you realized this fact till now?

So here are questions.

Why were you its target but your tank/frontline?

Also if there’s no tank/frontline, as range heroes why don’t you poke it from afar?

or leave it if you can’t deal with it effectively and not worth it to do so on your own?

If this was 5vs5 dps teams in qm then you have no frontline to soak the dmg from it. Then its up to the one with must hp that lures it over.

Ice Block when you see it start to leap, if you don’t have a tank or bruiser who knows how to bait it.

Or use medalion. Now every hero can actually bait the punisher when necessary.

Pff, rookie stuff, have you tried using your vault as Valla to dodge it?

No just punishment that I still to play but fell to enemies hands here. but eventually ending up to win in the same Diablo-themed map as Tassadar. I took that next time will charges again.

That is also fun to do. Or use your mine as junkrat.

Alright, considering this is in a qm game with 5v5 dps on both sides and I won’t go deep whether melee dps is included or not.

In this kind of situation, the best thing both team should do, probably “must do” in most games is basically defend it behind the gate, witout the gate your team is so vulnerable not only by the punisher itself but also the follow up from enemy team.

If the gate and towers are gone and the punisher still remain a lot of its HP then considering to abandon the fort because the fort may not be able to withstand the punisher+enemy team and it makes your team even more vulnerable.

But this scenario goes for both side, so winning the shrine is essentially important in a match like this.

Some heroes has swap/teleport/displacement ability, they can bait the punisher and get away from the stun if they’re fast enough, for example, as “range dps”

  • Sylvana with E
  • Valla with vault
  • Chromie with swap talent
  • Tracer with Blink
  • Genji with His dash
  • Mep with his E
  • Li-Ming with teleport
  • Greymane E in his wolf form

Those heroes with iceblock ability can work as well.

Refreshing. It’s been a while since i last seen a complaint about the punisher.

Hands down the best map after ToD.

Every single hero in the game can avoid getting jumped by the Punisher now that Medallion is a thing.

Precleanse yourself as he jumps -> no stun.

If the Punisher managed to kill you from 100% health, it means you just stood there and let it hit you for its full 4 second aggro duration.

Even then I don’t think it actually deals enough damage to kill you with just its basic attacks. You probably also stood in its abilities.

I have been killed by the frost one with stun + root. That was painful.

I could see that, especially if the AoEs overlap. The root pins you down so the boss can punch you more as well.

But OP claimed that the Boss 100-0’d him with just the jump-stun and AAs. That’s not likely at all. Far more likely they either got caught in one of those roots from a Frozen Punisher or stood in the AoEs of a Mortar or Arcane Punisher.

Wait what? Looks like an l2p issue, because some mages don’t know how to position themselves. :joy:

But well it reminds me about…

Nothing can stop the juggernaut. You stay away if you’re a squishy and let a tough hero protect you.

Other than reading it’s movements, which I think it chooses someone random that is in range or the closest which is in range.

Thats why you learn to bait it over walls the right way with the right hero. Anub with a good reaction time can borrow away.

Because he is the punisher.
And the punisher kills the bad guys.
