Who is the most lore heavy hero that we have?

I think it must be a Warcraft hero, as Warcraft has more lore than all the other blizzard games combined.
Then I think it must be Gul’Dan, since his role in the world is HUGE:

  • He is the 1-st orc to become a warlock.
  • He destroyed the spirits who were granting shamans their powers over nature.
  • Then he manipulated Ner’Zul into forming the Horde, and declaring a war against the Draenei.
  • He re-trained the old orcish shamans to become warlocks.
  • He gave the Horde to the Burning Legion.
  • He led the Horde to Azeroth.
  • He raised the Broken Shores from the depths of the ocean. And died there while seeking the Eye of Sergeras
  • Then he got another life, in an alternate timeline. It was another instance of himself, but he also had quite the impact.
  • He, and his shadow council built the gate, that connected Draenor with Azeroth. (Although Garrosh made him do that)
  • He escaped to Azeroth (after doing some other shenanegans in Dranor). And brought the Burning Legion with him.
  • He took Illidan’s imprisoned body and attempted to implement Sergeras into it.
  • He killed Varian.

While Medivh also played a huge role in the events that transpired, I think that his role was smaller, although also significant :stuck_out_tongue:
Medivh just made Gul’Dan bring the Orcs to Azeroth, and made it possible… that’s kind of everything he did. Most of his life he was in coma.
After his death, he asked Thrall and Jaina to move to Kalimdor…
I think Gul’Dan had the most significant role in the WC universe from the heroes we currently have.

I would counter by saying Alexstrazea.
She’s been around for a role in far more stories playing major roles in War of the Ancients, having her own along with the other 5 dragon aspects before mortals were even a thing she also played a pretty major role in events that happened after the second war in Grim Batol etc etc. Her age to the story and just general impact as a guardian of azeroth is far more reaching then Gul’dan’s mere 50 or so.

Also you could argue that there are two Gul’dan’s cus of that time travel shenadagins so there’s also that.

I think Zeratul since he appears in mostly of SC books. Yes, WC has more content but not everything is related to the same characters while in SC almost all the story is conected to the few characters it has.

Will give a better answer in the morning but without going over all the books etc, Thrall must be up there.

20 lives.

You’re not wrong but then you have to ask how many stories does that entail? I ask this genuinely cus I know Alex has been in at least a dozen stories all over WOW and her impact is pretty far reahing once you account for those directly under her command.

Having lived for longer doesn’t mean you lived a more meaningful life. I mean, without Gul’Dan, we wouldn’t have the Horde, we wouldn’t have the the Lich King (since Ner’Zul is the Lich King) and the scourge, we wouldn’t have warlocks, we wouldn’t have the Broken Shores. Orcs would still be shamans instead of blood thirsty brutes. Outland would still be regular Draenor.
Even if Alexa attended more events, I think Gul’Dan’s impact upon the world was bigger.
Illidan and Malfurion have also lived quite long. But one slept for 10000 years, and the other was imprisoned for that time.

We can’t be sure about medivh : he could have some much alternate universe versions of him who could still be in relation with every fragment of him …

Also. He is apparently alive as seen in Legion.

And Alex’s imact on the Titan’s time on Azeroth and the War of the Ancients was not to be underestimated, without her and her red dragonflight we wouldn’t have had what is going to be the next Lich King tc etc, and I’m sure there’s something that is importnat that hapened in the lesser known Lore between War of the Ancients and the first war so there ya go.

Pound for Pound, Azmodan is probably the most heavy character in lore.

Wait, what was the question . . . ?

I also think that Diablo is the most lore heavy hero in the game.

my thoughts too. pretty much everything that happened was centered around Diablo and his brothers and the black soulstones that were to trap them.

i would say Diablo has the biggest lore.

Great, and now I’m thinking of Diablo and Baal in the Infernal Men’s Room.

“My lore’s biggest!”
“No, mine is! Just look at the size of my Worldstones!”

I feel like Diablo edges out Arthas, but I’m going with Arthas anyway. Because Arthas. I mean, come on. Arthas.
