When I originally played EfB, the first thing I thought was " This is awesome" . The second thing I thought was “Why is this so easy?”
I’m sure they tested it before making it live, so I wonder why they thought the difficulty was ok. Then I thought, maybe there ARE people who prefer that version ?
So where do YOU stand?
I prefer the regular escape from Braxis.
I prefer the more difficult heroic version of EfB.
Harder, but I make the current version “hard” by trying for the fastest time I can when solo queuing. Raven’s Court is actually holding a speed run contest, I think it is this weekend, with a cash prize for fastest time!
Make it harder! The most common complaint I’ve heard is “bored now, it’s too easy.”
Edit: For those who don’t know (and care), the voice line emotes for heroes are often mixed up. The Varian on my team had Auriel’s voice, and as Lucio I had Raynor.
I think it’s the most overrated brawl. For me, it’s like a one and done thing. I play it once and it’s fun, but I have zero interest in doing it again. I understand why people enjoy it, and I’m glad they’re enjoying it. But the reverence it holds that people love it so much and want a permanent PVE mode to fundamentally change HOTS into something it’s not just confounds me.
Its tough because there are people of all skill levels. I have no idea how big a ask this would be but it would be nice if we could vote on the difficulty during hero select.
I personally really want to play the hard version again. I kinda wanna see a version thats ever harder then the original heroic version to.
Well, a harder version would be definitively be nice!!
It is super fun and different from the normal mode from heros.
Even if they do the same mode with different universes, for example with alterac valley, but escaping from the jail, same goes for Diablo escaping or fighting against the demons, or go even more crazy like, being a 3rd fraction (doing missions or something) while the 2 other Teams (red and blue as NPCs) are fighting like in quick match.
to be honest I desire a challenge, I expected it to be easy due to my extensive play time in general.
right now it’s a great exp farm the money and hero exp from playing ARAM but minus the trolls, the sweaty try-hards and a lot more casual.
managed to do a all healer run for Braxis, surprisingly awkward to pull of in a decent time
I found it was easier then I remember—but then we did a round without a healer. We died in section 2. Though, maybe that was because the two tanks kept charging on without any idea what all the damagers were doing.
This Brawl was made when they were pumping out new Brawls every 3 weeks. If anything it is a concept/test run for what could be. It’s not like they spent a ton of time on it and really polished it up.
At this time in Hots, the resources and money spent on was enormous. And not too long after is when we learned that HGC would be cancelled and Devs would be pulled to other projects.
It would have been a deep rabbit hole to venture down, and obviously they chose not to, but I think you are in the minority saying that that it is over-rated.
It’s precisely because I’m in the minority that I think it’s overrated. It’s way more popular than I think it deserves as so many people like it a lot. That’s not to say it has no value though. I would just prefer playing other brawls.
I play HOTS for the dynamic PVP gameplay, not static PVE, much less heroes that were designed for PVP in a PVE mode. I’m not against good team based PVE games, I just don’t look to HOTS for it. I imagine it’s because of that sharp contrast, Escape brings novelty. But at the same time, because it is PVE, that novelty loses its luster incredibly fast for me. And so when people crave and exalt the brawl as so wonderful, wanting to run it over and over and think it’s just the best thing since sliced bread and want it to be a permanent fixture, I don’t get it, that’s just not HOTS.
Fine, I’ll confess my shame, I lost a match while playing Xul. It wasn’t all my fault, as two people disconnected and for some reason you can’t ping the AI to follow, it just sits in the spawn.
As three, we made it all the way to the third act, but got wiped while the AI chilled and coldly ignored our plight.
I think most of us came for the MOBA style pvp, but I don’t know why they couldn’t make a parallel PvE mode that had some challenge and need for creativity on forming team comps. With rewards that unlocked skins/mount and other fun stuff. Things that you could show off in PvP mode. They could go a lot of different ways with it and give players something else to do, but maybe not mandatory. I’d still keep the PvP modes as the core of Hots.
To be fair, Volun never said they didn’t like it, they even said it’s fun the first time. Just they didn’t find it fun enough to do repeatedly, which is fair.
I remember finding it a little too easy the first time, but was surprised by how much easier still it seemed now, almost “trivial”.
But I also remember the last time around I cound’t finish the hard version even once.
Which is fine, I’m not some pro, and I’m okay with not clearing everything. But that time I played online with a friend who almost never has time to hang out, and he just kept wanting to try again and again past the point I was sick of beating our heads against the wall
I’m trying to remember if Zeratul was an option last time. Picking Illidan makes things seem pretty easy. I’m sure if I pick some hero I don’t know, things will be much harder.
