It always depends on composition so it’s hard to say who is the top ranking of each role. Let’s take supports.
Medivh is hard to get value as a solo player trying to carry poor teammates but excellent enabler and he isn’t terrible at damage, either. Abathur is the face of the support role now and he gets more results the less aggressive the enemy team is. TLV are supports only because they don’t fit elsewhere. They got buffed recently so they can be scary so I wouldn’t discount them, either. Zarya is honestly the only support role hero who can be argued she isn’t the best.
So how do you expect me to pick a top tier here? Not to mention that Support role is niche so basically nobody in this bracket are considered S-tier anyways.

Brightwing is the best healer in the game.

I mean yeah. Supports are niche.
But there should be one support that is better than the other supports. I know each of them serve a different purpose.
Unless we count support role out.

It’s also dependent on your rank. If you’re GM/robot tier (higher than GM) then tlv is god. Medivh would also be higher on the list as portal is free instant team engage
It heavily depends on your playstyle and the map, I’d say (and team comp obviously).
You’d rather want to know about the bad heroes and not pick them…
All the others are viable choices.
While this site is far from perfect, it is about as good as we get for something that can be filtered almost indefinitely.
There are different heroes that are “top tier” at different ranks, and in different modes. Heroes that work well in draft modes (Abathur) can often struggle in QM. Zul’jin is god tier in ARAM, but so so in ranked play. Heroes that are oppressive in lower ranks (Kael’thas) are almost non-existent in the highest ranks.
Run different filters for yourself, and you can see which heroes thrive in the rank and mode at which you play.
Abathur is by and far the most “viable” support. He can be run in a variety of comps and has a variety of different playstyles. At high level (masters and above), TLV might be better.
You’d need to double over on each role, because the number of heroes required for each team are 10 people.
It’s more accurate to ask “what are the top 10 heroes?” than it is to ask which heroes are the top tier in each role. This also allows you to get a better idea for team composition.
They don’t really compete in the same niche though despite being supports. For example at the really high level you can replace a healer with an Abathur as main heal.
Can’t really do that with TLV for obvious reasons.
There is no other good category to put TLV in though, so I understand why they chose support.
Melee: Zera
Ranged: Cassia
Bruiser: D.va (although this role is pretty flexible)
Tank: Diablo
Support: Aba
Healer: Brightwing

Depends on your Rank or how good you are. Top bans right now from my experience is:
KT, Dibbles, Tychus, Hogger, BW, D.VA, Rexxar, Stukov, Deck Cain, Li Ming, Garrosh, ETC and Gazlowe.
There’s also the niche heroes but i dunno if youd want to count them.
Doesn’t mean these heroes are OP. To my understanding, we seem to be hitting a new meta, and a good chunk of them fit in this meta.

in GENERAL (this is also considering they are not just bad tank players to)
Tanks, diablo, etc
Bruisers Gaz, Dva, Imp
Ranged Assassins, Syl, grey, mephisto, cassia, chromie, guldan, li ming, rexxar, valla, tassadar, orphea
Healers, Whitemane (only if you know how to play her), Brightwing
Melee assassins, Zeratule, maiev
now these are ones that can pretty much fit in nearly any comp and are GENERALLY the best, it all depends on your comp and the enemy comp though as well as the skill set of both sides. like for example, anub would be a GREAT pick vs double mage or a very strong mage. etc

Taken by themselves without really considering synergy or enemy team comp, you have the following:
Tank: Diablo/Johanna
Bruiser: D.Va/Sonya
Ranged: Cassia/Hanzo (Raynor on certain maps)
Melee: Zeratul/Samuro
Healer: Brightwing/Stukov
Support: Abathur/TLV
That being said, there are numerous combos in the game that are extremely strong and allow you to overcome the above quite easily. Some examples of incredibly strong combos:
Auriel+Valla
Uther+Xul (tank combo w/ another healer)
Leoric+Deathwing (mage build)
Ana+LiMing
Ana+Malthael
Tracer+Malfurion
Varian(taunt)+Greymane
Abathur+Zeratul
Abathur+Tracer
Abathur+Samuro
There are other combos that get more complicated requiring specific drafts of 3-4 heroes to pull off, or drafting lots of globals with coordination. But yeah, the game is far more complex than just who is the best in each slot… That being said, the ones most people have mentioned above are good basically all the time.

Mostly my opinion and based on what I see is played often and/or successfully.
Tank: Anubarak
Bruiser: Gaz, Dva, Hogger, Rexxar.
Assassin: Cassia
Healer: Ana? (Honestly not sure).
Cassia is probably the most overturned hero in the game right now. (And for the past 6 months lol).

Yes that’s inherently true, but that’s more that the line between support and healer are very blurry, Support being “utility and minor healing to allies, along with XP soak” and Healer being “healing and minor utility to allies”
