Where do these high-level accounts come from?

Can you guys tell how to get a level 999 butcher without buying some bot service? I would like to know.

Play nothing but Butcher and get boosts.

the most efficient way to level heroes is in ai mode.

There are discord/chat groups that organize hour-long ai matches to maximize xp gain. By partying up (w/ ‘friends’) and using boosts they can ensure a win against ai to get the most of all the bonuses, and force the match to reach level 30. Since xp in game translates to xp earned on that hero, groups have select players intentionally feed the ai to accelerate how much xp is gained in the game. More xp is gained at the later end of the game, so it’s better to have long games (hence one hour) rather than several short games in the same span of time.

Does this mean bots are rentable in hots?

I mean, if i were to sell hots accounts with level 999 Butcher/muradin/Xhero which was farmed with bots since this is a free game and the optimal way to get exp is AI which requires no skill, would i get rich doing that? I just want to know for scientific reasons.

I have seen several lvl 999 players in this game that were either very good or plain trash.

My account level is very high, but I don’t have a single hero yet over 100. If though the game had remained as popular as it had and I had continued to group with 4 friends and buy boosts, I’d easily have many heroes over level 100.

Some people really are one tricks, it doesn’t mean they have to be good with a hero. I’ve had friends like this, they didn’t cheat or farm levels, they only played one hero they loved. Call it OCD or whatever, but people are just like this. Of course there are some obviously boosted accounts, my VS AI main friends tell me they see botting in that mode.

This. It’s not a mark of skill. It can be grinded by playing lots of 1 hour AI farms.

Either the player knows absolutely everything about that hero and is a legendary player, or it’s someone who doesn’t even understand different builds or mechanisms of that hero.

Complete luck which one you get when playing with a 999 hero player.
In my pessimistic view (and personal experience) it’s the same as level 4000+ players: They did grind it in AI, they didn’t hone their skills vs other players to get that.

There are exceptions though, there is a GM Alarak on youtube who is lv999 and probably the best player of that hero anywhere in the world.

I can’t think of a reason why I would want to buy an account with lvl 999 heroes. It wouldn’t leave much for me to do. I can’t see what I would gain from it.

I find it hard to believe there would be a market for HOTS accounts in 2021. If there is, people would want as many heroes unlocked as possible, not as you say, one hero at level 999.

Probability and reality are very far from each other.

Edit: This alarak’s boss steal with brightwing at the end of his video was actually very novel and amazing.

Yea, it’s that type of play I wouldn’t dare to do (or know how to pull it off) in a thousand years. These people rightfully deserve to climb the ranked ladder.
It proves how big the difference can be between a top player of that hero and a mediocre one. A top one can swing the game alone just like that 1v5 (or 2v4 as in that clip).

If you google it so can you see sites and stuff that seems to sell this kind of thing. Whether they actually make sales is another thing though, but it would explain why you sometimes come across people in high diamond playing like bronzelords and what not.

Other than the Mastery rings and taunts, which many people prefer not to use anyway, a level 999 hero is basically the same as a level 1 hero in terms of what can be done with it. Any difference in play is due solely to the person playing them, not the level.

In other words, anyone who is willing to pay money for an account just because of the hero level needs to have their head examined.

Problem there are people who are this dumb and do it. LIke right now we have one who constantly spam the same line about he wants to sell an account and you need to join his discord channel to buy it.

There are also one on EU server who got banned and frequently ask to buy a new account with his fav heroes unlocked so yes those people do exist.

Unlocked, sure. Not wanting to grind an account to the point it has a reasonable roster makes some sense (not that I condone it, or would participate in such a thing, this is the only HotS account I have). But to have the hero level be a selling point?

Only a crazy person would try that, and only a crazier person would buy such a thing.

Yeah but those are rank boosts.

Why anyone would pay for a hero level like 700 or 999 is beyond me.
It’s hard to think such a service for such a small game that is barely maintained would exist.

Same reason why some reason would buy a rank boost I imagine. They think it would look cool and would get respect from strangers.

It’s kinda the same logic that the people who grind levels in vsAI have. They think that a high level by itself is bragging material.

Eh, I can see that as something someone would do for their own amusement. Some people do it for the sense of accomplishment in doing something sane people generally do not do. Whether it be grinding a level 999 Sgt Hammer, leveling a neutral Pandaren to max in WoW by staying in the starting zone and farming low level herbs and ore (yes, this was a thing, google DoubleAgent), going after a single piece of legendary gear in Diablo by killing the same boss 440 times, or those who collect baseball cards in real life, people have hobbies that may not always make sense to others, but makes them happy.

I have no problem with people mindlessly farming bots, whether it be for levels, relaxation, or to play heroes that they are terrible at in a format where no one will yell at them for it (this is me in vs AI playing KTZ, trust me, you do NOT want me playing KTZ in your PvP matches!).
